Nintendo patent shows tech that turns Wiimote into a...touch pad?

- accessory to slide onto a Wiimote
- turns the controller into a touch pad
- accomplishes this through use of mirrors
- when you touch the pad, an infrared LED turns on
- the amplified beams from the LED bounce off the mirror
- this is interpreted by the controller as position data
- don't touch the pad to use the Wiimote in its traditional sense

Remember, just because the patent exists does not mean that Nintendo will ever actually produce it.
