Nintendo's Koichi Hayashida discusses working through Japan's earthquake disaster

“We were used to getting tremors in our Tokyo office, of course. When the second one happened we knew it was definitely different. All of us had received training ever since we were kids in elementary school, to get under our desks whenever there is a very big earthquake. But this was so shocking that for a moment we weren’t sure what to do.” - Koichi Hayashida

Hayashida goes on to describe what it was like working at Nintendo while all this was going on, and how the disaster lead to a different approach with Super Mario 3D Land. Check out the full feature here.
