How many gamers get their Metal Gear fix on Nintendo platforms?

Coming from a survey of 6,756 gamers...

Here's a question for you. Can someone tell me what Metal Gear games DS/Wii owners are playing?

- audience is predominantly male (78 per cent)
- a third of players are males aged 10 to 19
- with females, only six per cent of the 15 to 19 age group play MGS
- most enjoyed aspects of MGS are “Involvement in a story,” (41 per cent), “Fighting and combat” (31 per cent) and “Speed and concentration” (21 per cent
- “Violence” is also a notable feature, as its rating comes in at nearly twice that of the average game.

That's really high considering there is only one metal gear game on the ds family

How do you play Metal Gear on a system where there are none? What a silly chart!

it doesn't list gamecube so they probably counted twin snakes for the wii also the ds one groups the 3ds with it so its probably only snake eater

WHYYYYY was such a study conducted?
Kojima probably has no more interest in Nintendo, even though Nintendo only got MGS 1 (Twin Snakes (thank you, SK) and 3 (3DS).

Kojima Productions and Konami... they aren't making a fan outta me. They just aren't trying

Is this the "free sample" that they make available for download because if it is, it wouldn't make me interested in purchasing their full report at all.

Since they're lumping DS/DSi/3DS together and the only way they could even list Wii is if they're lumping GC in with it, this data is pointless. Will they break it down by individual system in the real report? Are they going to break it down by title/system? I don't see any hint that they're going to be doing anything of the sort.

With all the bundling of systems, are PS1 players bundled in with PS2 and PS3 as well? And are PS2 bundled in with PS3? What about PSP? And what's up with smart/port and other. Smart/port could mean ports to smart phones or ports to smart phones and ports to other platforms. But why would they do or phrase it that way? Wouldn't most of the titles fall under port then? And again... Other? What's that about?

I don't know what any good this report is going to do other than show how badly Konami supports Nintendo hardware.

@jasonmaivia

Not sure why they have to try making you a fan.

If you wanted to play their games, you'd buy systems with their games. Not wait for their games to come to you.

Just like you have to get computers, phones and cars with certain features you want.

If you want to enjoy their games, you need to make the effort to play them. It will cost money, but you can't get bummed out and hate every company that doesn't put stuff on the thing you decided to buy.

I'm not saying that they have to do anything.
You've misunderstood me.

It's like when developers and publishers were asked all this and last generation about why specific games aren't made for Nintendo's consoles, some usually give the excuse about the audience not being right for their games. Over the years, these "Nintendo gamers" they have in their minds will never be the right people who would play their games, or so they say. They've been building up this image since the N64, and it's still with us today.

So, if these big games of their continuously skips the Nintendo console, no matter how popular or powerful they may be, how can they expect the people who only owns those Nintendo consoles to really know or appreciate what their games are about. Do you think that an old PS2 port on 3DS is going to make up for the years of neglect? It wouldn't surprise me if it's the only Metal Gear game to come this gen. That isn't trying your best.

Konami could have had an original Metal Gear game planned for release if they really cared, instead of whipping out a port. You wanna see effort? Look at Resident Evil: Revelations. In comparison, that Metal Gear port is a friggin' joke! Even though Mercenaries was given to us first, Capcom still had a TRUE, brand new Resident Evil game planned. We'll have to wait and see if Konami still wants to do more after Metal Gear Solid 3D Snake Eater.

If Konami wants to build a fanbase on any console, they have to give their best effort when putting plans into motion. Just Dance isn't the first ever dance game on Wii, and look at how popular it's become. No one expect games, like Call of Duty, to do well on a console that usually gets ignore by most other HD developer currently making shooters.

If there's one thing that you have to do to keep your fans happy, it's to keep them entertained. Yeah...I guess that's why a lot of Nintendo-only console owners aren't rabid Metal Gear Solid fans. We only love dance and party games, right??

The first chart doesn't make a lick of sense, since there aren't any games on Wii. Why would they lump Gamecube and Wii together, and not type in Gamecube's name. plus, I doubt that anyone's going to be able to dig up info on how much time to spent playing an old Metal Gear Gamecube game on their Wii.
This info was pushed out through someone's butt.
