If its for fans and consumers then I guess this Nintendo Direct really does serve some purpose then. I on the other hand would have been perfectly fine waiting till E3 for some news, but the more news now the better I suppose. I'll watch it to see if theres anything new related to Luigi's Mansion 2. (^¸^)
@Mirr0rR3flection
Would you really wait for E3? I can't hold my excitement like that, I need some infos!
Well, they announced the new Fire Emblem game at the last japanese Nintendo Direct, so the japanese version of this thing is actually enjoyable, but the NA and EU versions are really boring IMO, they rarely give new infos like release dates...

Should we get our hopes up? probably not. Especially since this is a Nintendo Japan broadcast. At the very least, I'm hoping for info on Paper Mario 3DS. Maybe some more Nintendo Network tidbits...?
Excellent. I've enjoyed all the past Nintendo Directs (from all regions.) They always come with nice tidbits of news and are a huge step up from years prior when fans were constantly left in the dark. ...Sure, we're still pretty much left in the dark even with NDs, but at least they shoot up a couple beacons of light every once in a while!
Well Fire Emblem just came out and on my Club nintendo report it has a intend to buy survey for Mario tennis. So I expect those two things to recieve some discussion.
I highly expect them to talk a little about the success of Kid Icarus+second round of AR card releases. Then maybe go into a little info up the newely released Fire Emblem and how you can get free dlc for it up till May 31st. Then probably go into Mario Tennis upcoming release info and hope fully start giving out dates for Luigi's Mansion, a little chit chat about the e-shop, maybe any upcoming updates for the 3DS system software. Hopefully more announcements on continued 3rd party support. Wiiu? No WiiU info as far as I could see. Rest assured they'll want to keep all that juicy info for E3 here in a couple more months.
I liked the last Nintendo Direct. I checked the European Nintendo Direct site and the new Nintendo Direct is coming to Europe as well. The European broadcast will be on Saturday April 21st at 13:00 hour (Central European Time).
The last European Nintendo Direct was a bit odd though. They simply used the Japanese Nintendo Direct, which isn't a bad thing, but more the most titles they showed were subtitled with "Not planned for release yet". They gave us Japanese release dates, but no European release dates. Hopefully they give us more European release dates this time around.

Yeah, it's to be expected as a UK or European gamer mefraid.
We're the rush job / less regarded market [in general]. It's why we never have a head speak for us personally at E3.

This [no reason they shouldn't by now, especially on the later].
Why would Japan announce Pandora's Tower when it's already been out since last year?
d'oh! thought it was an NoA direct. Weapons grade derp on my part.

Sakurai tweeted that they'll talk about Kid Icarus as well.
For clarification, it's Saturday for Japan, that means it's Friday for NA.
how rmc wrote it's on saturday and 20th(fri) is little confusing.
I want paper mario 3ds already! Please nintendo show more videos my body is ready

Man all you guys are getting me hyped up. I probably shouldn't be.
Well they did announce Pikmin and Mario Wii U this week. It may be far fetched but teaser for one or both?

i hope its about the possible firmware update
I hope so too!!!!
Perhaps there could be some validity to that firmware update rumor we heard about a few weeks ago.

I was under the impression that when Japan has a Nintendo Direct, everyone has one around the same time.
Maybe they'll get the Wii and DS news out of the way here (Fatal Frame, pleeeeease), then keep the bigger Wii U and 3DS news for E3.

Wow, a Nintendo Direct this close to E3. Is it just Europe and Japan or North America too?
Luigi's Mansion 2. I'm calling it.
Animal Crossing and Paper Mario or they shouldn't even bother.
ANIMAL CROSSING
I'm a very patience person.
And besides E3 is just around the corner. Less than 50 days I believe! (^¬^)
