I'm definitely excited that another Nintendo Direct is taking place, but it's kind of putting a damper on the start of my weekend! Friday night is for relaxing, not for work! With that said, I'll be here to cover any/all info that comes out of these events. I hope to see you here! As for now, I'll need some rest! See you in a few, short hours.
Nintendo has once again decided to spring another Nintendo Direct event on us. These things have been coming fast and furious lately! As usual, we learn about the event just days before it happens. I had plans to check out a movie tonight, but it looks like I'll be tied to the computer once again!
I sure hope the event is worth watching, as I'm sure you guys do as well. We know for sure that both Japan and Europe are going to hold events, but we have no idea what they'll be talking about. According to the European press release, we'll be getting details on Wii and 3DS titles, but that's all we know. That sure leaves the speculation wide open!
I am honestly curious as to what else there could be to talk about with the Wii. The system has been on its way out for awhile now, and with the Wii U set to take center stage at E3 this year, what could Nintendo have tucked away for release? Are there going to be surprise game announcements, or perhaps more titles that will be localized?
Leave a comment and let us know what you think the Big N will be sharing. As of time of publishing, Nintendo of America is yet to announce plans for their own Nintendo Direct event. Let's hope that changes by the time I wake up!

The lack of an american one should be a good indicator of what we should get out of this.
If NoA actualy makes its own event, then I can look forward to it, if only to see some gameplay vids.
Information about the new Luigi's Mansion and Paper Mario would be nice. But I expect that Nintendo will show us footage of Mario Tennis Open, because we are close to it's release.
I really hope Nintendo will finally give a release date of Beat the Beat: Rhythm Paradise for Europe. At the last Nintendo Direct, Nintendo did release an Iwata Asks of the game, but they did not give a release date.
US:
Pandora's tower announced for US release
Information about the next 3DS update and what we can expect
trailers for various 3DS games
Europe:
Fatal Frame trailer
trailers for various 3DS games
I expect nothing more
@ridleysaria
I really don't understand the negativity behind E3 2003. Wasn't that when metroid prime 2 and resident evil 4 were announced?
But I completely agree with all the negativity behind E3 2008, seriously I was ashamed to be a nintendo fan that day.
2003 was the year where Nintendo's big focus was GC/GBA connectivity. I couldn't believe how much time they spent showing Pacman Vs. Seriously, you knew it was bad when that was their big game for the show. Prime 2 and RE4 were there but barely. The Prime 2 announcement was a 15 second clip that amounted to nothing more than a tease. RE4 wasn't playable either and it was the (underwhelming) version of the game that was completely shelved. Neither of those games had their true unveiling until E3 2004.
2003 was a pretty good year as far as released though. It was just E3 that sucked.
Beat the beat Rhythm Paradise for Wii in Europe Im guessing will get a date. As for what els... I have no idea. Exited though.
@ridleysaria
still sounds infinitely better than e3 2008 (I know that doesn't say much)
I do believe this was the E3 that started the whole Gaijin 4 Koma meme. XD
Oh yeah, nothing has been worse than 2008. That was the only year I actually got up from my computer and walked away. I listened from a distance, but I couldn't stand to watch anymore.
Yes! You're right!
Why do you guys have to bring up E3 2008? It's so painful to remember all the Mii-centric crap presented.
I think this Nintendo Direct will have more of Kid Icarus. Probably to tell everyone that the AR cards will be available on Club Nintendo. I think any news about Animal Crossing and Luigi's Mansion will be saved for E3.
@the_nintendo_screw
You know, I've been waiting for Myths and Monsters as well as Kirby's Dreamland 2 to be released here. Hopefully Reggie will mention them in his stream... if he makes one that is.
Those sound good.
I'm confused about this Nintendo Direct. Is there only going to be a Nintendo Direct for Japan and Europe or is NA also getting one?
Just got a link about the EU presentation in my inbox.
Shame I'll be at work at the time!
If they're announcing MonHun i'll forgive all their sins. A special edition for pre-order and online (that's what they've been working on all this time right?) would be quite nice.
Well since Pandora's Tower has been released in Europe now, NoA probably already has the launch numbers so they can feel safe arranging a half-release like they did with Xenoblade. So there is a decent chance about that.
Maybe something Fire Emblem related for Europe? (What is their release date anyways, or is it still vague?)
Highly doubt NoA would announce Fire Emblem 3DS at the moment, probably saving it for E3/never
Well we can't all be as enlightened as you are.
im not really expecting too much. probably kid icarus and spirit camera stuff.. maybe some fire emblem stuff.. id be happy with just some details on luigi's mansion and animal crossing.
New trailers for Luigi's Mansion 2, Paper Mario, perhaps Fire Emblem localization confirmation. Pandora's Tower seems unlikely to me. It hasn't been enough time since The Last Story was confirmed. I don't know.
release dates for Paper Mario, Luigi's Mansion 2 (both summer)
Fire Emblem localization
fatal frame 2 release date
"hey, look out for Wii U at E3!"
push for eShop stuff, maybe a hint at or logo of that Mario 3DS game.
@FrenchFryGuy
Consider yourself now enlightened.

Nah, you can stay up on your pedestal by yourself.
Nintendo needs to expand their Wii Selects series to include more games. DKCR, Sin & Punishment, Kirby Epic Yarn, GoldenEye, Warioware (for North America) and some other older successes which have plateaued in sales could be attractive $20 investments if they were reissued. Is that something that could be announced at ND?
As I said before, this could be the time to release info about Wii and DS titles for the rest of the year. They can also through out a few bits of info on 3DS due out later this spring and summer. E3 is where their biggest announcements and will take place. So, outside of Pokemon Black & White 2, that Pokemon/Nobunaga's Ambition game, Pandora's Tower, and maybe Fatal Frame 2, I don't think there'd be anything else to get too excited about.
They may talk about improvements for a 3DS update or about more services and features being shut down, like Nintendo Week on the Wii's Nintendo Channel.
What to really expect at Nintendo Direct tonight:
- Mario Open Tennis
- Random Hatsune Miku and other Japanese games that nobody cares about.
