We know that the Wii U Mario related project to be shown at this year's E3 is related to the one last year. Is it just going to be a very straightforward announcement of the same project? Here's what the most recent issue of Nintendo Gamer supposedly says.
Thanks to Alejandro for the heads up!
Hopefully they change it enough to make it worth the purchase or as i said before make it a pack in to show off the controller and make it easier to convince people to buy the Wii U. Either way i'll still get it but i rather it not just be a lazy game
Agreed... I'm not overly excited about this Mario game.
Not that I won't pick it up at some time.
EDIT:
Hmmm...looks like they're talking about a bunch of Wii U games in the next issue. That'll be interesting to see.
Unless they change this pretty drastically from NSMB Wii, I'll probably skip this entry.
They sure are jumping into the HD era with real visual splendor aren't they....
I think I'll skip this game. I'm about over miis in games that aren't wii sports. NSMB was a breath of fresh air 6 years ago. but this... I love 2d mario. but NSMBwii and this entry especially have the taste of 'game design by number" all over them.
edit: echoing what LoS said, It would make a PERFECT pack in or free download. but as a 60$ game, I'm just not at that number for this title.
@OprahFTWinfrey
You stole the words right out of my mouth! ha
People need to stop making drastic assumptions based on the tech demo we saw last year.
@CyTheLegend
Dude...the picture in the magazine is exactly as the game appeared at E3 last year. So...just sayin'. Either we're all right, or Nintendo is just rehashing NSMBWii in HD package with new levels.
Maybe the game will come with the system. I don't think I'll buy it either, especially at a high retail price.
You guys do know that Nintendo Gamer is a POS magazine that very rarely has exclusive info and has been rehashing news/interviews from E3 for the last couple of months and labelling them as new... right?
When A New Call of Duty game comes out:
Nintendo Fans: ITS THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN RUN. GUN. RUN. GUN. NOTHING DIFFERENT
CoD Fans: ITS GOT NEW GUNS AND NEW GAME MODES ITS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GAME.
When a "New" New Super Mario Bros Game comes out:
CoD Fans: ITS THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN RUN. JUMP. RUN. JUMP. NOTHING DIFFERENT
Nintendo Fans: ITS GOT A NEW POWERUP ITS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GAME.
that's a little disingenuous, there has been exactly 2 NSMB games released. one in 2006, one in 2009. there is a 'new' call of duty every year.
and all Ive seen as far has hype for this WiiU entry is people taking nintendo to task for doing a simple re-hash.
@Daz Nobody is saying that about this game.
I hope they put more effort in level design in this one. NSMBW was very bland with levels, both in design and in background appearance.
also, please nintendo, have a bit more variety in the music too, it gets pretty annoying when the only music you hear 80% of the time are slight variations of the main theme (at least in NSMBW and SM3DL).
Exactly what I expected :/ hopefully that's not really what the game looks like, I'm really getting bored with the NSMB DS aesthetic and we all know Nintendo can do better than that on powerful hardware. If it's a pack-in then that's pretty cool, but since Nintendo could get away with charging a decent price for it I'm pretty sure they will
Well... I can't say I like it but it will sell zillions of copies.
@Shaanyboi
Why are you here?
Here is to the presentation at E3 possibly making me want the game a little more than I do now (almost ignore worthy for me). I'm wanting it to have a better attraction other than being just a fresh "option of picking a Mii" NSMB game.
Are you seriously questioning how someone can say that the New Super Mario Bros. Mii demo wasn't particularly flashy whilst simultaneously loving Nintendo?
@Frank
I am sorry, Frank, but Super Mario Bros Mii is PERFECTLY FINE the way it is. I wonder why people complain... just because Nintendo is always original with their Mario games but now they are releasing THREE SIMILAR GAMES (NSMB DS, Wii and now Wii U)? Just because Nintendo ALWAYS made different styles of 2D mario game but now they are making the same thing for the third time in a short period of time making it seems like they are developing Call of Duty?
Seriously? Are you complaing just because Nintendo isn't acting like Nintendo? Are you complaining because they are developing another New Super Mario Bros DS game? I don get it! You're a hater! You shouldn't complain, I souldn't complain, we need to accept this new style of Super Mario 2D, maybe we can have 100 more games exactly like New Super Mario Bros DS, it's fine, we don't need new styles anymore!
(Hey man, sarcasm).
People, dont get exited about this magazine. They faked their Assassins Creed 3 info, they rehashed their old E3 interviews as new ones.
And seriously, this is nintendo gamer, why it would have exclusive info that neither ONM or NP could get?
Im calling it now, this preview will be more recicled E3 material.
glad I'm not the only one not fooled by nsmb mii... just looks so rehashed. Just finished super mario 3d land, now that was a Mario game made with effort.
have you ever been critical of Nintendo on any subject? No need to defend them 24/7
I agree when people say this should be pack in game
