Europe - 3DS hotspot finder gets revamped, Nintendo Zone officially launched

Coming from Nintendo of Europe's Twitter...

Use our new #HotspotFinder to find out where you can enjoy all the benfits of going online with your Nintendo

25th April 2012 – Nintendo 3DS owners will be able to stay connected even when they are on the go through Nintendo Zone, launching today across Europe. By using one of the approximately 25,000 Hotspot access points across Europe you will be able to access free and exciting content via your Nintendo 3DS system.

Nintendo Zone is a free location based, interactive service that allows you to access exciting content including upcoming trailers of games in 2D and 3D, product information, 2D and 3D screenshots, Nintendo 3DS game demos and free video clips.

To access Nintendo Zone when in one of the 25,000 Hotspots make sure you update your Nintendo 3DS today with the latest system update* from Nintendo. To help you find your nearest Hotspot, Nintendo has also released a handy Hotspot finder tool - simply check http://hotspot.nintendo.co.uk to find your nearest Hotspot and then when you are nearby the Nintendo Zone icon will blink to notify you that you are within reach of a compatible Hotspot area.

So get connected to Nintendo Zone and start accessing exciting content while on the move today. Head over to http://www.nintendo-europe.com/nintendo-direct to watch the latest European Nintendo Direct in full, which provides more information regarding the new system update from Nintendo and keep up to date with the latest announcements by following @NintendoEurope – The official Nintendo of Europe Twitter feed.

Note to Editors: *To perform the free and simple recommended system update, Nintendo 3DS users can simply: Start the “System Settings” from the Home Menu, Select “Other Settings” and scroll the page right to select “System Update.”

And Switzerland's the same no man's land as ever... not even Zurich has a single hotspot, though there seem to be around 10 randomly scattered across the country in smaller towns. Yay.
