GoNintendo 'End of Day' thought - GoNintendo Nightly: The Best, Worst and Weirdest Nintendo News of April 26th, 2012

ENDOFDAYTHOUGHTS 01

Man...I am TIRED! I think this new video series is taking it out of me. It's fun to do and the support is great. I just have to get used to having this in the routine! Please excuse my lame End of Day pandering for one more night. See you in a few, short hours!

I'm going to be flat-out honest with you guys, as I always am. I'm absolutely beat to hell tonight. I had a super busy night, and that includes the massive wall of info that came from Nintendo's investor presentation. I got a very late start on my GoNintendo Nightly feature, and by the time I wrapped it up, I was spent.

I'm running on fumes, which is why I'm sharing the GoNintendo Nightly as the End of Day thought. I know...convenient that I'm sharing this brand-new feature on GoNintendo as the End of Day thought twice in one week. I swear, I'm not trying to shove it down your throat. I'm just dead tired!

I'll hope you'll enjoy the show either way. Thank you so much for the support of it thus far! It may not look like much, but it takes a lot to put together!

Oh man, I used to love Mr. Belvedere when I was a kid. I haven't seen it in years, seems nobody shows reruns. Hearing that theme song brought back great memories! Glad someone else appreciates it besides me. Also loved $25,000 Pyramid!

I gotta say, I really love these. But I feel sorry for you, RMC. Don't you usually have very little time to do things other than GoNintendo stuff? And now you lose 10 more minutes.

Awesome stuff, though, of course~<3

actually having played through this game (my first fire emblem ever) I can tell you now while there is a literal "classic" mode for the game that keeps everything you know and love about the franchise sacred, it also comes with a casual play mode (the mode i currently employ) and allows so that none of the people who die in your game go away permanetly but are instead ressurected/saved. This allows the game to be played a little more like Advanced wars relying on less trial and error to get through a game keeping all your men safe and ALIVE. With a mode like that they clearly saught to expand this games audience. I'd argue that this FE is THE FE to bring over to americans to get them to play. Been a complete blast to play! :)

I don't get why people take the Iwata quote so seriously, when he said Nintendo would go out of business before going third-party. I don't actually believe it.

If you were in charge of a company that employed THAT many people, and you were in dire straits, what would you do? "Nah, we're just going to go out of business and let you all lose your jobs. Meanwhile, Mario and Zelda games will never exist ever again, even though we could use them to continue to make money and save some of your jobs as well as our own."

It doesn't make a bit of sense.

Actually, your duty would be to the stockholders. Almost one-fifth of that is tied up between a former Nintendo head and owned by the company itself. If it bought back more stock, it could do what it wanted.

The question then becomes how do you maximize value.

Of course, if you went all the way to becoming a private company, you can do whatever, including folding to protect the brand.

New Mystery of the Emblem also had Casual and Classic, which is even more confusing as to why they never localized it.
