Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 website adds a Wii forums section

It would be kind of odd to add a Wii forums section to the official Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 website if the game wasn't coming to Wii. Would Activision really add a Wii forum just to state that the title isn't coming to the Wii? While not a confirmation, I'd say this is a good step towards one. Thanks to JCC for the heads up!

They better bring it to the Wii u or 3ds. Don't care about it on Wii though. I got better shooters to play on it prime trilogy)

If it means anything, this one at least shows effort to change... If it's gonna actually good, is something we all have to see.

Wii U or 3DS. I'm not completely excited for the title, but the fact that it's not going to play like past CoD games gives me reason to hope. The open playfield structure reminds me of Goldeneye 64 (where you can do objectives in whatever order you want) and that is stil the greatest console FPS ever IMO.

I think it coming out for Wii U . We will have to wait til e3 for Nintendo to let 3rd parties talk about their games.

a forum does not a confirmation make. They were probably tired of 'omg, bring it to wii' threats cropping up everywhere else.

MW3 on the wii account for 5% of the sales of that release. I'll be shocked if they downport blops2.

the 'pre-order the game now' thing on their website still lists 360/ps3/pc. I figure if there was a wii version, they wouldn't be holding back that info.

now, a wiiu version, that's a different kettle of fish.

100% eh? then why not listed it among the systems it has already been announced for? why do no retailers have SKUs for a wii version? there is no angle to holding out on that announcement.

Trayarch has been good to the Wii. They wouldn't be all snooty like Infinity Ward was with those 2 jerks that got canned

If it comes out for the Wii U I'll get it at launch to have an online shooter for the new console.

As is, I may not get it since Halo 4 will keep my busy on my 360.

@gtt they usually take their time with the announcement. It happened last year

This game is not going to disappoint. Just heard the Giant Bombcast and it sounds really interesting. Probably my shooter for 2012.

On Twitter Dan Amrich said:
No info on Nintendo platforms for #BlackOps2 yet. For #MW3, that announcement was separate: http://is.gd/iIWMp7 So maybe news later?

The link refers to the announcement of MW3 on Wii which happened several months after the initial announcement.

Well also if anyone has BO on Wii they did a litle update and when you log on the bottom crawl says "Black Ops 2 trailer has just been released head to www.Facebook.com/CODblackops for more info." or something along those lines.

Just seems weird to in-game advertise the game on the Wii if it wasn't headed to a Nintendo platform.

@NeroSuferoth

lol thought the same but I think a lot of the users on here have seen the trailer and it looks like they've changed the gameplay up a bit.

The horse part totally looked like the ending of Uncharted 3.

Just about every Call of Duty released on Wii only accounted for a fraction of the total and much larger sales garnered on other platforms. That hasn't stopped Activision from funding the series on Nintendo platforms. The only entry Wii didn't receive this generation was Modern Warfare 2 whereas the DS received its own version of every version released. I'll also add that I know for a fact that at the very least both MW3 and Black Ops didn't have preorder campaigns going for them listed on the site or in stores either. A forum may not mean much but it's far more confirmation than we got for Black Ops or MW3 as it wasn't until much later in the year that we even had confirmation of either of those games heading to Wii. We only knew about MW3 for Wii prior to Activision proper announcing it because of a booth PDP had setup at E3 last year that featured their latest headset for Wii displayed among game cases for Wii games planned to use it, one of which was Modern Warfare 3.

What would be a shame is Wii U not getting the game. I'm not going to say one way or the other if it is or isn't since no doubt many games in dev for Wii U probably won't be announced until E3. Would also like to see the 3DS get it as well considering n-Space's experience with Nintendo portables and the CoD franchise.

Nintendo probably wants to announce Call of Duty: Black Ops II being on the Wii (and maybe Wii U) on E3 2012.
