Looks good visually, but it also looks no different from every other Mario Rom hack that prides itself on being an unfairly difficult save-state-abuse-fest. It's know it's supposed to be "Challenging" but really it feels like bad game design. I haven't really found a good Mario rom hack yet, and the ones that show potential always have one level in it that's impassable.

Quite the contrary actually - this is going to be one of the best hacks out there. Thorough testing has gone to each and every level - no level in this hack will be horrible - there will only be horrible playing. You can't judge a game by a 1 minute video.

Yeah I totally agree. The Mario looks and moves horrible. some of the enemies look pretty bad too. The original sprites were much better.
Why do people say Mario looks bad? It's probably one of the best graphics in the game - maybe the presentation wasn't good enough...
And which sprites look bad? The Bros and Cheep-Cheeps are placeholders - other than that, no horrible graphics are used in the hack.
I'm really impressed that they use all new sprites. O_o Usually, ROM hacks like this use the pre-existing sprites. This is really cool. It helps to differentiate the hack from the others, and it makes me WAY more interested in trying it.
That was a pretty clever use of some of the resources, like the countdown platforms as minecarts.
