Can you believe how close we are to E3? The big show is almost here! Of course, the last few days before it all kicks off are the longest. News slows and anticipation reaches a fevered pitch. I better get my rest now...the big show is going to take it all out of me! See you in a few, short hours.
For the last few months, the internet has been on fire with Wii U talk. Fans have been pouring over absolutely anything and everything they can find when it comes to Nintendo's next-gen system. Patents provide endless amounts of information, rumors keep things interesting and we even continue to look over content from last year's show. There's no doubt about it, the Wii U is on the mind of almost every Nintendo gamer.
With that said, there's a little portable system from Nintendo that is in need of a huge showing at E3. The 3DS may be doing fine and dandy now, but the system didn't start off so hot. I don't think any of us predicted a 3DS price cut within its first year, but that was the move that put the system back on-track for a successful lifespan. Now we need to see how Nintendo is going to push the portable that could in 2012.
We already know a couple big things. First off, there's going to be a major push for digital content, with almost all of Nintendo's 3DS titles seeing simultaneous digital/retail release once New Super Mario Bros. 2 hits. We also know there's a new expanded audience title in the same style as Brain Age in the works. These offerings could mean very big things for the 3DS.
Of course, those alone aren't going to be the only things Nintendo needs to continue positive momentum. The Big N promises that there are big third party titles in the works, with E3 giving us a look at some of those outings. We all want to believe Nintendo, but the proof will come on the morning of Nintendo's press conference at E3 2012. That day cannot get here soon enough!
Is the 3DS going to deliver at this E3? Will there be enough content and reveals to keep the system in the forefront of gamers' minds, all while the Wii U steps into the spotlight?

As far as 3DS goes, I'll be happy with some solid release dates dor Animal Crossing and Luigi's Mansion 2.
Paper Mario, Luigi's Mansion 2, NSMB 2, Contra 3DS and much more to be announced i'm sure. Yes the 3DS should be making some noise at E3, and those games will certainly help it to do just that. For me at least.
Let's see...
3DS: NSMB2, Metroid Dread, New Zelda, Luigi's Mansion 2, and Fire Emblem confirmed for Europe.
Yay~<3
Well there are plenty of games we already know are coming that we know little of, NSMB2, Luigi's Mansion 2, Animal Crossing, Paper Mario - just to name a few.
I don't see a lot of first party surprises, Like I don't foresee any particularly exciting previously unannounced game from Nintendo being revealed, or at least not more than maybe 1 and the rest will probably be more footage of the games mentioned in the previous paragraphs.
Should be a pretty good showing. In addition to the new SMB, Paper Mario, Luigi's Mansion 2, Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem that we all know, I expect surprises like F Zero etc. Should be cool.
They've announced and released so many 3DS titles I'm not seeing how they could have much that's new. It's still early for the 3DS Zelda, as well.
Depending on how long the Wii U part goes, they might not even have that much time to show off 3DS titles. Which may mean that some of them get kicked out and end up on the site afterward (you know, like AC and PM were for the last two E3's). So, I'd say that the ones that are a guarantee to show up at the conference itself are New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Animal Crossing 3DS. NSMB2 is coming out in August, Animal Crossing in 'autumn'. Luigi's Mansion 2 and Paper Mario are a toss up. I'd say one of the two is likely to show up, but probably not both. I could be wrong. (And the one of the two that's most likely to show up in the conference is Luigi's Mansion 2)
I'm just glad that Animal Crossing is pretty much confirmed to appear. I mean, finally. I still can not believe they actually announced NSMB2 and it gets a release before Animal Crossing, but at least AC has even a general release date now. The awesomeness of Animal Crossing 3DS pretty much determines my opinion of this E3 since there's nothing they could show for the Wii U that would get me excited (release patterns don't bode well for any franchises I enjoy ending up on the Wii U anytime soon), and I'm afraid that they'd have to spend the AC:3DS part showing how the game has fixed everything in the series that Wild World and City Folk destroyed for me to really think "Awesome!". I don't know if they're even capable of making a sequel of that quality.
As long as Luigi's Mansion 2 and Paper Mario get confirmed for this year in the UK, I don't really care what else they show / do not show, tbh!
... Unless it's an Eternal Darkness 2 on 3DS, mind.
Ten minutes at most to show some of the upcoming games and those already announced. WiiU needs all the spotlight, 3ds can have a nintendo direct if there really is a lot of content. I wish the conference would be longer than 1 hour.
As far as wowing me, mostly a new metroid/f-zero/zelda announced could do the trick, but I still want them for the U.
There should be a new 3ds game reveal. Maybe a Zelda 3ds game. I expect to see trailers for announced games and release dates
I think the Main conference will be focusing mostly on Wii-U..but I'm not worried the Big N has been doing those developer round tables the last couple of years and I expect one of those to mostly concern new 3ds games..
The 3DS has already blown my mind and I'm sure it will continue on and on
What would wow me is seeing a new Pokemon 3DS game. (*Which won't happen cause of BLK & WHT 2...>_>*) Besides that I'm already wowed enough by the 3DS as it is.
of course it will..........
WiiU HAS to be the main focus
Not as much as E3 2010, because I think that Nintendo will focus on the Wii U the most, but there could be some exciting announcements for the Nintendo 3DS at E3 2012, so who knows?
The WiiU (me vainly hoping for a different name) needs to have a massive coming-out party, with them showing us the can bring us a stellar launch in every aspect. So the main focus will surely be on it. Though they almost certainly won't, telling us the price point and release date would be quite nice.
They cannot slouch with the 3DS either. They need to confirm titles like Paper Mario, Luigi's Mansion 2 and Animal Crossing as releasing this year. Heck, a few surprise announcement would go a long way as well. The absolute best thing sales-wise would be to announce a Pokemon game for the 3DS, but that's highly unlikely.
I think the 3DS will be fine, they still have a lot of first party games to release, and just announcing a few new ones should make everyone pleased. In addition to what we already know I have a feeling third parties will jump on the band wagon more now that the 3DS has a stronger market.
Well lets see we know about
-Luigi's Mansion 2
-Paper Mario
-Animal Crossing
-New Super Mario Bros. 2
-Kingdom Hearts 3D:Dream, Drop, Distance
-Heroes of Ruin
-Rayman Origins
As far as games that need to be localized
-Monster Hunter Tri G
-Fire Emblem Awakening
-Bravely Default:Flying Fairy
As far as Project for the 3DS that we know about
-Project X Zone
-Monster Hunter 4
-Contra 3DS
-KAIO: King of Pirates
-Rayman Legends
Yeah, if all of those make it over I think I would be fine. So no sweat for the 3DS.
"Wow" us? No.
I expect mostly the same stuff as last year, but obviously the remaining games we don't have, with new footage (Paper Mario, Luigi's Mansion, Animal Crossing, NSMB2) and the Pokemon apps.
Obviously a few new 3DS games will get announced, but nothing to make you go "WOW" like when the 3DS was revealed. Especially with the focus on Wii U.
I bet some awesome stuff will be announced, but like I said, nothing to "wow" us unless you're easily surprised by obvious announcements like another Mario spin-off, a Kirby game and maybe the rumblings of a new Zelda.
Wii U Sports & Minigames galore, and a Mario platformer. No Fire Emblem Awakening for us.
Keepin' expectations low
@AnoukiAgentYellow
Hah, good thinking.
Consider me wowed If they announce Fire Emblem for the US. Oh, and some news on Luigi's Mansion 2 would be nice
Otherwise bring on the Wii U goodies!
I'm not really expecting Nintendo to push 3DS titles during their press conference, as they really need to push/clarify the Wii-U. But I'm hoping we'll see some surprises on the floor, and at the very least, playable demos of previously announced titles (Luigi's Mansion 2, Paper Mario, etc), along with some firm release dates.
I think it will be pretty redundant, there are alot of projects we know about already due to previous showings that are not scheduled to come out until later this or even next year. I would personally be happy to see more news about Animal crossing, Paper Mario and the like but I don't expect thrills.
I do so hope they stop announcing titles that aren't on the horizon (year)
I expect a huge blow out for Wii U, it will be the make it or break it point for me. I have the utmost faith in 3DS but I am really skeptical about Wii U
All I want for 3DS is a new Wario Land. Everything comes after that. We need a WL5! (or 6, if Shake It counts)
I think a new Kirby is a lock, especially with the anniversary, and Donkey Kong is probable too. WarioWare and Zelda could be shown, dont know how likely either is. I expect some good eShop news and 3rd Party games.
And of course... FIRE EMBLEM!
Oh God, don't even do that. I would sell my firstborn (when he/she is, y'know, born...someday...eventually...) for that.
