Is Rayman Origins going to have an eShop/retail dual release?

We know that Rayman Origins is going to be available at retail, but it looks like it might also be an eShop download. The title is slated for release on June 5th, but there's another line in Ubisoft's press release that points to a dual eShop/retail release.

"The full version of the game will be available at retailers and online on June 5, 2012."

Ubisoft and Nintendo work very closely with one another, so I wouldn't be surprised to see this happen. On top of that, the release date is the first 'real' day of E3. Seems like a smart move to make!

That would be cool i guess. I wouldn't doubt it, even though i was expecting mario to be the first one

If it was cheaper I'd consider getting it eventually even though I already own the Wii version.

I tried the demo out today and dug the 3D effect.

I think digital would do this title good considering its a tad late to the game compared to the other versions.

That would be great, I'd definitely get the digital version. Sorry amazon.

June 5th, huh? Nintendo's E3 conference. How convenient. ;)

@Jiguryo

Yeah I could imagine them making the announcement during their conference.

Seems like there's always something released on or around their conference. We've gotten Link to the Past and Mini's March Again on/around E3 right?

This would be a good way to introduce the new software coming to the eShop.

I kinda think we are getting are hopes up, based on the wording i think they mean online retailers...like amazon

@GeneticRepoMan

Yep, both were surprise announcements!

@MathewT21

Absolutely, but having this announcement on the same day as their conference - and Nintendo's own chance to showcase the whole "retail games on eShop" approach - does raise possibilities.

... Not sure if serious.

It says "at retailers and online", as in, in stores and online stores.

Pretty sure it's always worded that way.

This isn't pointing towards anything. You're just reading into it too much.

Didn't they said that New Super Mario Bros. 2 would be the first retail downloadable eshop title?

@MoldyClay@MathewT21

So... how do you want to be called?
The Grinches who stole E3?
Heartless scums?
Monsters?
Dreams killers?
Horrible guys that are delighted by depression and woes?
... ;)

My only concern is this:

Are reatail games that we download online gonna be of the same quality that we buy on a game card? Like eshop game demos seem kinda compressed when i play them. These aren't going to be that way right?

I mean thy ARE a bit bigger than most eshop games.

I'm sure they're talking about online retailers like Amazon, but I'd love to see the game hit eShop too!

It would be a great title to kick off the dual service despite my gripes with the watered down presentation.

But my guess is online means well.. online retail purchases. I'm sure Nintendo would want to make some big announcement on its own but I wouldn't mind being wrong.
