I was greatly disappointed with generations 3D. It felt so rushed and such a poor job by a studio who usually makes good games. I greatly regret buying the game even though i loved previous portable sonic games
@LegendofSantiago agreed. Waiting for a real Sonic game on 3DS. SEGA themselves even said Generations 3D was meant to be a rushed tie in game.
Sonic Chronicles should never be listed with a top anything list unless it's a Top Worst.
I am also quite disappointed that they included IoS ports of the first two Sonic games. That's just not fair. That's like saying the best Mario game of all time is Super Mario All-Stars. Not fair.
Sonic Pocket Adventure on the Neo Geo Pocket Color is the best handheld Sonic closely followed by the first Game Gear game.
This list is bull. It lists a bunch of terrible iOS ports with touch controls as "the best"? what a joke.
When I first clicked the link, I was expecting actual Sonic handheld titles, not iOS ports of older Sonic games with terrible touch screen controls... And how long has Sonic Advance been a DS title?
Yeah, this article was quickly rushed out the door. Not a ton of thinking has gone through.
That's exactly what I was thinking. For instance: The iOS version of Sonic All-Stars Racing over the DS version?

This list is so very terrible.
First of all, Sonic Chronicles is actually ON the list.
Second of all, most of these are just console games turned portable. They really shouldn't count.
Lastly, None of the gamegear games are on this list.
Sonic the Hedgehog 1 for Game Gear was just as good as the original, with a hint of NES-style challenge (where you can't pick up your rings that you drop, suddenly Sonic isn't so easy anymore. )
Anyway, I was actually very pleased with Generations 3DS. The only thing about it that bugs me is the fact that Classic Sonics first three levels are pixel perfect replications, rather than brand new recrations, like on the HD version. I do like how Classic Sonic was replicated nearly perfectly, including his physics. There were multiple paths in both Sonic's levels, much like the old games, one leading to the goal much faster, but difficult to get to. I don't understand the hate.
Sonic Colors is missing imo: The game seemed really polished and the inclusion of the stomp and walljump made the Rush-flow even better. Such a great game!
Also console ports shouldn't be on a list like this!
