Reader Stunt Duck reported that the eShop was down last night. According to him anytime he tried to access the eShop he kept getting an error message. Did anyone else have this problem? Perhaps Nintendo is preparing to release some content to the eShop during or following today's conference.

Not for me, since I rewatched the Nintendo Direct video on the eShop, but that was late at night (Eastern timezone).
I accessed the eShop last night with no problems...was there a particular time this outage was experienced?

It was probably their internet connection.
probably just an connection error, or maybe nintendo uploading Nintendo Direct.
It was at 10:30 ET. I had just finished watching the Sony conference and sending smack talk swap notes about it, so my internet was working
Well yeah, they're releasing 3DS trailers. They've already said that multiple times.
I hope that is is something more like what they did for Dillon and they drop some fresh content today. They have shown with their new download and retail strategy announcements how seriously they are taking digital now. We'll know very soon.

I know Stunt Duck, his internet is crazy fast and reliable. I doubt that is an issue. Also Vegeta, don't hop on these comments if your goal is to be abrasive and not add to the conversation.
I was up for me as late as 10pm, I noted they had Iwata's Nintendo direct up and watched a bit of it.
