That old HAWP episode was the first thing I thought of when Nintendoland was announced. I also thought "this looks like ass". I must be in sync with the Burch clan!
Oh, and Anthony is looking more and more like a hobo as time goes on.
@derula it sounds like you don't want to give the game a chance even though people are saying it's good. Nintendo is putting a lot into this game and they are pretty confident in it.
@derula I enjoy a good minigame collection here and there. Wii sports resort was pretty great and games like the wario ware games are always fun. I'm definitely interested in this game, not the Wii u game I'm most exited for, but it does look like a ton off fun with friends
derula wrote:I'm having trouble believing what cort and RMC had to say about Nintendoland. Yes, maybe the minigames turn out to be great fun, and maybe Miiverse works beautifully with the game, but - it's still just a minigame "collection" (if you can call a dozen minigames a collection), nothing's gonna change that. Plus, the graphics are all plasticy again (probably my greatest issue with the two announced NSBM titles)... it's just getting old and really boring. I just can't see me buying Nintendoland unless it's a pack-in (in which case I don't doubt I'd have fun with it, I just wouldn't go out there and buy it).
the (local) multiplayer games were good fun. sure, they're not triple-a graphical experiences, but they still look decent. i didn't get to try the single player games.
total honesty: rmc and i were talking on the show floor about our concerns whether some of these mini-games were going to be deep enough or have enough replay value. i mentioned it a bit in my impressions. i believe this game is going to be included (at least in NA), and that most people will get the most out of the multiplayer experiences, much like wii sports. the majority of this game has not been revealed yet, so we're giving them the benefit of the doubt. we interviewed an exec, and asked about things like future DLC and expandability, but all that is still TBA. if they can add levels or extra games down the road, this could be a lot better than they've shown.
but yeah, it's still a mini-game collection, but so was wii sports, and that was the defining software for demonstrating the wii control experience. how well did wii sports rate among reviews? i have a feeling NL is going to be pretty much on par with that, but just offer a lot more.
clarification: that 'i believe' is just my educated guess; not based on any specific news release. just my gut feeling based on everything i've seen and heard, cumulatively.
So... was Nintendo Land butt or not?
Nintendo land isn't what i would call "butt" pretty positive previews. I don't know what these guys had to say about it
I half-expected a hidden blade to pop out of Ash's hand. Oh how I love Ash! ;D
Needs more butts.

Good stuff.. on a different note.. she has a nice butt. Js.
i have no idea what these two are talking about.
RMC tends to be overly positive. Except he wasn't with Metroid Other M. Boy that was a surprise.
I wouldn't want him to be any different though. It's nice to hear someone with an optimistic attitude, cause I'm a sad and bitter soul.
@derula so minigame collections can't be fun? Huh
