Wii U controller image lag non-existent, actually beats out TV display
Wondering just what the lag is between image rendering on the Wii U GamePad and your TV if the same image is displayed on both? Here's what Digital Foundry found...
Latency worries with the Wii U pad? In this footage you'll see that the tablet actually renders the same image seven frames ahead of the HDTV - a substantial 116ms advantage. It suggests a lot of post-processing in the LG display while we remain unclear on whether AV data is being beamed over the tether attaching the controller to the console. Even if it is a basic wired comparison, it's still revealing. We tested two 60Hz titles - Mario and Rayman - with the same results.
Keep in mind that the lag here may have a lot to do with the TV itself, but you should still get a similar frame difference in favor of the GamePad no matter what TV you have.
