Pokemon TCG 2: The Invasion of Team GR gets a fan translation

Fans continue to do what game publishers won't. While it may take a very long time for these things to happen, good things come to those who wait! Today we've learned that Pokemon TCG 2: The Invasion of Team GR has received a fan-translation. Obviously we'd love it if you actually purchased a Japanese copy of the game to enjoy this fan translation, but I have a feeling some of the people playing this aren't going to do that. I've thrown in my two cents, but it's not my place to judge you on your decision.

Never knew there was a sequel...Why wouldn't they localize it? The first game was amazing!

I only know this game thanks to Wikipedia. Still wish it was localised.

I've been keeping tabs on this translation project for a few months now. I'm glad to see that it's finally complete. Looking forward to playing it sometime.

What would be the point in buying a copy when none of the people who worked on it will get any money AND you can't patch the actual cart? This particular game is sold for an extortionate amount just for a used copy, the only real reason to own it is for people HAVE to have every Pokemon title, other than that it's just gonna gather dust. Its best that all copies are used and played.

@CrispyGoomba

This is also news to me. I played the first one to death. It was the easiest way to teach people how to actually play with the cards and not just collect them lol

It wasn't localized. Because People generally didn't like the TCG as a video game. So they didn't bother.

If it truly was done using translators then please help danke continue his work!

He cancelled it because of this patch that claims it was done through babelfish and other translators... which let's face it completely lazy.

Please support this guy as he's been working on it for YEARS as oppose to single clicks on the mouse.

Interesting.

According to him, he's having real life difficulties that make finishing the project, regardless of the other project existing, not so easy. I do kind of wonder why danke just doesn't find someone to collaborate with. Unless it's a different person, I'm pretty sure he's a moderator at ROMhacking, so it's not like he doesn't have a place to ask capable people for assistance.

Oh wow. I had no idea a sequel even existed. This is definitely something I'm interested in. I really liked the first game.

Yeah, however he also said he might continue it if enough demand.

Interesting. Would like the first on 3DS VC. I never owned the game myself but I borrowed it and it was amazing.

>I wouldn’t go in expecting a grade A translation here, as Artemis251 admits to using “online translators and context clue ad-libbing” for his patch, but it’s possible that might not be a big problem with a game like this.

No, that's a big problem regardless of what type of game it is. That's just pure laziness through and though. This shouldn't even be considered a "translation" if he is going to use those methods. Japanese is in a completely separate language family from English, so if you were to Google Translate it, you are going to get a horrible mess. The guy should just can the "translation", actually take the time to learn Japanese like the rest of us and do it the right way.

I downloaded the patch. It's really cool, I see myself spending double or triple the time I spent on the first one.

Danke's project will resume.

That is all.
