Here's how you can see that these boxes are all placeholder as far as the Wii U branding goes: the old Wii U logo with the teal/cyan/blue-greenish U. The updated Wii U logo uses a strong clear blue for the U part of the logo.

Placeholder, and Nintendo isn't stupid enough to have the same box for the Wii U that was the Wii.

Yep, they'll inverse the white part, ala the 3DS box art compared to DS box art.
