NPD - Gamers warming up to digital purchase options

Physical games are still the industry mainstay, but consumer preferences are shifting. Over one-third of game purchasers who bought a game in the past three months say they'd prefer to purchase a digital game over a physical video game, up 10 percentage points from just a year ago.

Same time/same price always going to be physical. I like actually feeling like I own it.

I love Steam, but there is a reason I won't pay more than $5 for any digital title on there.

Just depends, I guess. If a game is too rare to find or its the only option, I'll go for digital.
