A portion of a Game Informer review...
Heroes of Ruin is a functional lootfest, but its poor economics balancing, uninteresting weapons, and boring combat don’t do it any favors. It’s like listening to a terrible band cover your favorite song. All the musicians are holding the right instruments, but it just doesn’t quite come together.

Oh well. The reviews are starting to trickle in and they're sounding pretty mediocre - wasn't expecting much more. I'm hanging on to my preorder anyway. Online play still sounds like it could be fun.
Cue the "you're just biased against Nintendo!!!!!" comments.
@captfalcon99
Except it's not made by Nintendo...
Gah... I was really looking forward to Heroes of Ruin, but dang. Guess I'll wait to hear some reader reviews from here.
I really wish I could say I were surprised by the critical response to this game. But we all saw it coming.
That's a bit harsh. It's certainly not GOTY material but it works well. What it lacks is personnality and polish.
It's not a bad game (but true, not a perfect game)
Wait till the demo comes out then you guys will be able to see for yourself.
So far, I've been enjoying the game. Yea the visuals aren't the best, but there's a lot there.
