“We wanted to do an Alice in Wonderland part of Wasteland and, as the story developed and as I looked around at my team and saw what they were excited about, I didn’t have anybody who was gonna champion that land, who had great ideas for adventures in that land... Someday maybe we’ll come back to it; maybe someone will come along and say, ‘I’ve got an idea for the story in Wonderland’ and we’ll talk about that and maybe it shows up in a game someday." - Warren Spector
Spector also discussed the musical elements of Epic Mickey 2. He says that if things go well this time, he's going all-out with the mechanic in a future title.
“I always knew that the second game was gonna be two-player co-op and that Oswald was gonna be a playable character. I knew that in 2005. That was a done deal. I had some really crazy ideas about ways to use music in games, that seemed very Disney-like to me, and you asked about how do you cut things? Well, you can’t do everything so that didn’t make it into the first game, which was fine. And I know where I’m going with it, someday, I hope, maybe, but this time around, in the second game, I just wanted to take a baby-step to making the full-blown interactive musical game. This is not it. Gamers, you tell ’em there are songs in the game and they start getting panicked, but I just want to see if people will accept songs in games and, if they do, next time I’m going crazy. People don’t even know what’s gonna hit ’em.”

I can't wait for this surprise musical element.
...
But I'm really sad for the Alice part. I would LOVE to work on this Alice land. O_O
I love Alice sooooo much!
I was hoping this meant Alice from Alice Comedies. Warren isn't doing the best job of sticking to his forgotten characters idea...
I am disappoint.
Are you f***ing kidding me?! I would rock a wonderland setting! Seriously? ! Hire me right now! Ill work for free and blow the collective gaming mind
Hey spector I'm serious. For free and make something amazing guaranteed
All I want from a 3rd game is to play Oswald myself. Co-op is great, but that doesn't make Oswald playable for me unless I have another person. Unless there's something I am missing and you can switch and have Mickey be AI controlled.
I want to play through the game as Oswald.
@ChozoBoy
This.
As cool as an Alice in Wonderland world would be, it was one of the worst in Kingdom Hearts 1.
And, like you said, he should be implementing Alice Comedies, not Alice in Wonderland.
Epic Mickey on 3DS gets a free pass since it's not about forgotten Disney so much as forgotten games and things getting sucked in that *aren't* forgotten, but there's too many current/non-forgotten things popping up in both console titles. Both in characters and in attractions.
