"Mirror of Fate is just as important because Mirror of Fate is tackling the question of 'Why is it the Belmonts have to go up against Dracula. Why is it them in particular? What's their story? Their connection with Dracula?' So I see it as very important to the trilogy." - David Cox
I really do need my next portable Castlevania fix. It's going to be a painful wait for this game to come our way. Waiting for this and the Wii U is going to ruin my Summer!

it's already ruined mine....
Cox once again trying to convince himself that what he's doing is unique or interesting
But it is interesting and a lot more unique for the series than the constant Symphony of the Night retreads from Igarashi.
Play this and STFU.
You mean Igarshi's game where he retconned Castlevania: Legends so he could have his own starting point for the series?
Cox has stated that Lord's of Shadow is its own separate universe within the series. It's an alternate telling of the Castlevania mythos not meant to interfere with what's come before.
Meh, at this point Epic Mickey and Adventure Time sound like they are going to be leagues better than "Castlevania".
How about no? That game is mostly an embarrassing pile of garbage.
We're talking about the same series that tried to reboot this series TWICE before realizing it was a mistake.
I mean Igarashi may have had a raging b*ner for Rondo of Blood and CVIII to the point of saying some games didn't happen but at least he tried to keep things straight rather than suggest the Belmonts after
Soniashe who doesn't exist have vampire blood (though it is a shame we never got the Dreamcast game) and maintaining SOME kind of consistency.Seems that the feeling Cox was trying to capture in his games likely came from wanting to capture the gritty feel of the boxart of some games before Dracula X SNES or the Ayami Kojima years really. That and likely connecting with a postmodern, Japanophobic audience we've been seeing more of lately.
The point is the game already addresses those questions. Whether you like it or not isn't what's being discussed.
You may as well say you refuse to go to the doctor because they tell you things you don't like while you're at it.
I've played Legends and it was pretty bad. It didn't fit well into the continuity anyway since it retconned the whole deal with Trevor being the first to kill Dracula. Sonia was an awesome gal, but her removal is an unfortunate casualty in the name of a greater good.
