It's not some sort of spite thing. It's just that on current generation consoles, the most sizable base of active digital consumers has been on the X360 and PS3. Bear in mind, this game was green lit more than a year ago when I did the deal with Marvel. Don't worry though, on some future unannounced Capcom projects, Nintendo platforms will get digital love from us. :) - Capcom's Christian Svensson
Let's hope this means both Wii U and 3DS. I mean, he did say 'platforms'. Thanks to JF for the heads up!

Capcom is dead to me until they bring Ace Attorney Investigations 2 over to the States. 'Unannounced' sounds like brand new projects but if the localisation of AAI2 ends up being one of these projects and even if it ends up in digital form I will be happy.
Hopefully they won't ignore the platforms like they did with the wii
And hopefully, won‘t have massive amounts of on-data DLC.
"on some future unannounced Capcom projects..."
He did just make a comment about monster hunter....could that mean....Monster hunter 3G and 4 will be sold digitally on the 3DS?!?!?!
I believe he's talking about remakes only...
It's not spite. It's willful ignorance.
Again we find ourselves in the never ending self fulfilling prophecy circle:
3rd parties hold back their titles because they say there is no market but unless they release their titles there will never be a market.
How come this isn't an issue for every new piece of hardware ever released?
No, it only holds for Nintendo. Even though it's been reported that they're jumping through hoops to give 3rd parties everything they want in the digital space.
Your Sony and MS moneyhats at work folks!
if it's mainly streetfighter, resident evil and nothing else, i'm not interested
@HammerGalladeBro They will, because said sheep keep buying said games.
@void3953 This.
Sony and MS initial new console support is never in question - third parties know they'll be moneyhatted and will need to do less advertising themselves.
So instead of HD Versions we will get 3D Versions?
I'm all for that especially if they are priced right and are GBA/DS "remakes".
So this.
Capcom needs to stfu, period.
@void3953
Except no.
Compared to XBLA and PSN, nobody buys anything on WiiWare.
And this is ignoring the fact you can barely fit any of the games people want on it.
How does this have anything to do with why they aren't bringing the Marvel vs. Capcom prequels to WiiWare? Oh, it doesn't
While your comment may be true about retail titles, this has nothing to do with this topic whatsoever.
But I do buy a lot of Wiiware. And the good titles like World of Goo and Shinen games have sold in great numbers. He is spot on.
AAI 2 was my first thought when reading this. *crosses fingers*
Actually it does since they don't say that it isn't coming to WiiWare. They pretty much say that it isn't coming to ANY Nintendo digital platforms, including the 3DS as well as the Wii U.
Why?
Why is this title not being prepped for the Wii U launch?
I don't really care what they have to say about the Wii, they wrote it off years ago and they already paid the price for that. What the issue here is is how cavalier they are with stating that some future unannounced digital titles MAY end up on some Nintendo platforms.
In other words, the same condescending tripe that they threw out concerning the Wii.
They should already have a number of titles in development for the Wii U, both digital and retail. And yet whenever they're asked about support they pretty much say "later", which really means never.
I still can't believe Capcom didn't have 1 game for Wii U to show at E3 that was the most surprising! I'll be even MORE surprised if they have nothing at Comic-com or TGS to show either....
