Nintendo - 'no change' in previously stated New Super Mario Bros. U's release date

Here's some good news following up from our New Super Mario Bros. U release talk last week. Nintendo's Kit Ellis had said during an interview that New Super Mario Bros. U was going to be available for Wii U not too long after launch, which would seem to indicate that the game wouldn't be available day one. Now we have good news showing that you shouldn't worry anymore.

I talked to Kit Ellis, who told me that his comment was nothing more than a mistake. The intended release date is as Nintendo originally said. That means we still don't have a day and date, but the 'Holiday 2012' release still stands.

We also heard Iwata say that the game would be out day one with the Wii U, so it looks like we can keep believing that until told differently.

ya-hooooo!

but hey if they need more time with the game then by all means take it

wouldnt this be a good thing for the game if they take more time?

people are under the impression they come off an assemly line and quick cash ins

needing more time with the game can mean the opposite...?

Expected, unless there was an unforeseen delay, Mario would not miss launch

Good. It's a system seller for sure :)

But I'm still getting ZombieU ;)

It definitely should be out day 1. This is supposed to be their biggest selling launch title. It'd be a shame if it was pushed back.

So there is "no change in the previously stated release date" which "means we still don't have a day and date."

Great reporting. :)

That's good to hear. It'll stop some people from complaining about nothing for the time being.

i love how this game looks when it comes to the backgrounds

but i hate the plastic-y look of the characters

they should do some sort of cell chading style with the characters...idk

and the horrible wah wah music has to go...but not the koopa troopa dance

Same with when Nintendo is forced to give an estimate month launch to games because people want to know when it's coming, then when Nintendo doesn't hit it cause the game isn't finished, people cry "ZOMG NINTENDO DELAYED IT WHYYYYYY"
