It's so retailers can sell the digital copies as well. It benefits both us and the retailers, as we can get the games digitally for a competitive price, and they can stock more games as the cards would take up less space than the cases would, and so they can still make money off Nintendo's eShop.

Not likely... Hasn't Nintendo said there won't be a price difference for Nintendo-published titles? Besides, digital games tend to stay at the same price over time while physical ones drop. If it ain't physical then stores don't have to clear their shelves, after all. (Edit: Although, the cards are physical, so... I guess the cards will drop in price, but buying straight from the eShop won't? We'll see how that works)

The edit is what he was saying. It seems to maybe work - Amazon has deals on their download stuff for Xbox, occasionally.
