No, but even you have to admit the lore of Kingdom Hearts is too convoluted for its own good.

How many times can they redesign the same type of character? Even for an anime style this is preposterous.

There's a reason the pairs look alike. Well, we know the reasoning behind Ventus/Roxas, and I'm sure we'll find out why Vanitas looks like Sora sooner or later. In other words, it's intentional.
