Big announcement about E3 2013 coming next week

Coming from Rich Taylor, the Entertainment Software Association's senior vice president of communications and industry affairs...

Could this be an announcement of a new venue? Have the ESA and LA cleared up issues with the convention center?

Assuming dates and location (since they said they may have to move temp. from LA)

Raleigh Convention Center in NC! Although that place is probably nowhere close to being big enough for E3... :P

I'd be happy with anything that isn't LA. It was a supreme dump when I went for E3 this year, and I doubt I'd attend E3 again if it stays in LA.

Here's an idea...

How about running E3 through the weekend (instead of closing the show on Friday) and open the show up to the public on Saturday and Sunday as is done with TGS. Wed-Fri are media only and Sat-Sun are public days.

If the general public can purchase tickets to E3, you won't have a flood of people sneaking into the show on shaky credentials because there will be no need to do so.

If people that don't belong are no longer clogging the show floor, that means it will be easier for the journalists to get their jobs done.

It will also allow the ESA to bring in additional revenue from ticket sales and a couple extra days of selling $10 cheeseburgers.

Charge $30/day or $50 for the weekend and they'd likely have a sell out crowd.

Wishful thinking, I know. But it sure would be nice for the ESA to invite to the show the people (video gaming fans) without whom there would be no industry and therefore no ESA.

"We're moving to nowhere! We're just rising the cost of the entrances. =D"

Too soon for E3 2013 news IMO.

I'd like them to announce that there will be no more booth babes.

Hopefully it's that Michael Gallagher the spineless, nonsensical, ass kissing, yes man is leaving the ESA.

Meh. Unless it's going to be open to the public and go on a nationwide year long tour, then there's not much they could announce to interest me. Nintendo's E3 showing was lackluster at best this year, along with some of the other companies. E3 just hasn't been the same since they tried to fix what wasn't broken a few years ago.
