I am really hoping they know something we don't. I really don't want the white one. I was kicking myself for buying the white wii when the black came out shortly after. Black is just so much sexier.
I'm pretty sure Nintendo hasn't confirmed anything yet. As far as we know, White might not even make launch.

When RMC says it is "not slated" does he mean it hasn't been confirmed yet or that it has been confirmed it won't be at launch?
My white Wii is so dirty and scratched up, I want a black Wii U since it is harder to notice that stuff.
I doubt they know anything more than we do. Remember, HMV is the one that also put up posters of the 3DS XL with 2 circle pads. With pre-orders before knowing the launch date, price, etc. they're just trying to grab people's money early.
He means Nintendo did not officially confirm if the black coloured Wii U will be available at launch.
@shmuga9: You are probably right. Forgot about the dual circle pad thing. A big oops on their part. But, I am still holding out for the black one. I don't remember Nintendo mentioning anything about the colors available at launch, but they have been showing the black Wii u off an awful lot - the E3 presentation was done with a Black Wiiu gamepad - and they launched the 3DS in two colors. So, I don't see why the black would be excluded from launch.

I hope the black one doesn't take long to come out.. My white Wii looks terrible after all these years.
Black better be at launch. >_> People want that far more than white. Myself included. However unlike some people (so long as there are good games) even if there is only BLEH white I am still getting Wii U at launch.
My launch white Wii still looks white as it was first unboxed?... What do you guys do to get it dirty? Smokers in-house, constant moving around? hmm
I really want black for the WiiU I won't even consider getting it until black is available.
The Black console [and controllers] have been heavily featured at E3 [and ever since] - why is anyone doubting it'll miss any of the launch dates?
This, my launch Wii is as white as the first day I had it.
I'd prefer for HMV to be right, and the Black WiiU be coming out at launch. I'm not buying the WiiU until the black one is available.
My white Wii matched my white DS Lite. I now have a black 3DS, so give me a black Wii U please!
The Wii featured a variety of colors, including green, prior to launch. You see where that went.
