The launch of the Wii U in any part of the world helps to give us clues on the launch period in general. Today we're hearing from a retailer that the Wii U is due out on Dec. 6th in Australia. The date makes sense for a few reasons. First off, the Wii came out on Dec. 7th in Australia, which was a Thursday. Dec. 6th this year is a Thursday, and that's the day hardware usually comes out from the Big N.
Nintendo was reached for comment, but they had nothing to say. Couple this with the rumors of a NA Wii U launch around Black Friday and things are looking very plausible.

I'm sick of rumors.
@CrispyGoomba
Yeah I wish we just got the release date confirmation already.
Wait a minute, wouldn't this contradict the EU delay rumour then as Australia usually gets the same product as Europe
i cant wait for nintendos next direct video, its going to be awesome, with release dates and new game footage, makes me want the things even more
Judging from the fact that both GameCube and Wii launched the Sunday before Black Friday, I'd be willing to bet that the rumor comes simply from noticing the pattern and not insider info. In fact, I've predicted November 18th, 2012 as Wii U's launch date since it was announced, so we'll see if I'm right!
Argh, Nintendo, please at least announce your next Nintendo Direct. D: We need information, and there's no point in waiting that long...
@enigmaxtreme Nope, the UK and EU 'delay' rumour pushed it into Dec.
BS, it better had be - Oct or Early Nov please!
