I guess that's right... Considering the fact that AC:3DS is supposed to come out in the fall for Japan we should be getting an explosion of information starting really soon.
I was wondering where it all was.
Sure is depressing that NA and Europe won't be getting it until next year.
I can't believe they're aren't at least changing the look of the museum and Nook's shop. I hope that the place where you can buy flowers (etc.) can be upgraded and bigger.
Changing upholstery, swimming, decorating outside, changing the outside of your house, designing/getting pants and shoes, getting complete outfits like Link's and being able to cross dress isn't enough new for you?
Though, in true AC fashion, I am more worried about the fact that they always REMOVE features everytime they add something. D:

Finally, somebody else who gets it.
Everybody is always complaining about how the Animal Crossing sequels are "more of the same", but the real problem throughout the series is how they just can't stop screwing things up.
It's like they have some invisible line of quality that they can not exceed - whenever they add something major, they have to take away something major.
AC:3DS looks good. It's probably too good to be true.
Still not seeing enough new to get me excited though. I wish they'd finally make furniture more interactive.
You know you can put designs on furniture in this one right? o___O do you look at this 2 page scan and assume it's the all the game has new? Have you watched any of the trailers or the japanese nintendo direct video?
Am I the only one who finds it somewhat hilarious that "putting designs on furniture" is supposed to be a revolutionary addition? All the things you guys mention as the "new stuff" are really small changes. Being the mayor sounds like the biggest change, but until I play it I'm going to assume it's as big of a change as adding the city was; i.e., barely a change at all. It just moved certain shops around.

I'm not keeping up 100% with it, so no idea what's new info or not, but some stuff that may be that it mentions are:
making bridges, benches, lamps etc
aaaand that's about it for the first page.
Second page:
shoe shop, garden shop, estate agent shop, bean? (misc item? shop, clothes shop
can buy anything from misc items to houses
And that's about it

why does liking one point that's been announced have to belittle all others. Of course i'm excited about being able to customize the town, the new bridge in the scan looks awesome. There's so many cool things they are adding.
also, don't hate on the design feature, I'm not going to assume you made any designs or not, but me and my friends always made our own stuff, paintings, clothes, posts in the gamecube one, the ground pannels in the later games. Is it so wrong to enjoy making furniture that is your own? It's not a "revolutionary" feature, but nobody claimed it was. So don't put words in somebody elses mouth ya jerk

This is so true! Every time something great is added, its' cut and replaced with something slightly less great. That really hurt City Folk.
If only in a freaking Animal Crossing game didn't take away stuff and instead improved upon everything and built up all the awesome stuff that keeps you coming back. I'm wishing for that to be this Animal Crossing, although I'm not getting my hopes up. Regardless, the updated Nintendo online service and modern-day DLC should make this a much more achievable dream.
The bigger problem I see is that you can't do much with the furniture you put in your house. It's a lot of decorating and arranging, but there's very VERY little interaction, and it makes it all so boring... I just, I can't get motivated to play through the games just to look at stuff, I want to interact.
That's what made the NES games so great in AC for gamecube, they were a motivator, we actually got to play them. Now, I'm not saying bring back NES games, but bring in something that we can play with. Like, make it so we can play the musical instruments instead of just tapping them to hear the town jingle play, or perhaps allow us to play other games like pool or ping pong. As it is, it's not rewarding enough.
They need to change things, not just add or remove things.

They can remove the paths / grass wear "feature" and I will be happy.
On the first scan, I see a picture of a 3DS and Wii together on that scroll-like paper. Does that mean I can import my City Folk character to the Animal Crossing 3DS?
i want Animal Crossing so much.

I just realized that Animal Crossing is the only super-deformed anything I've ever seen that didn't look balls out retarded
