I'd love to hear about the next console Legend of Zelda. We all know that one will land on Wii U, but just when? The latest rumor out there states that Nintendo is targeting 2014 for Link's home console return. If you're up for a very heavy dosage of rumors, hit up the link below.
Details here

Hopefully they allow motion controls and classic pro controllers to please people. SS artwork is great but I rather see the game like the tech demo.
This is fake. Too much fan-service here. A dungeon as big as Hyrule Field ? That would be pretty boring and pretty bad level design, too much unlike Nintendo.
But Zelda Wii U will probably be one of their biggest and most expensive project yet.
On an unrelated note, I'm not sure a Zelda game with the scope of Xenoblade could work properly.
RMC needs to ban Wii U Daily and Zeldainformer. Everything they say is bullshit.
So, to get this straight, whoever translated these quotes into English is proficient in both languages, yet uses childish vernacular. "I dunno where it’s set in the Zelda timeline. I’ve seen a grown up Link who looks like a much higher detailed Link from Skyward Sword."
Saying "dunno" instead of "don't know" or even "have not been informed" was a red flag. But then when he was quoted talking about "grown up" Link. I don't know about the rest of you, but grown-up is a term children use to describe adults. Adults do not refer to themselves as grown-ups. Have this Japanese developer's statements been translated by a 13 year old boy?
well the nintendo expert has spoken so it must be true
Motion controls again? What would one do with the Ucontroller then?
I'd prefer to use the gamepad in some sort of interesting way than waggle controllers for a third time.
Skyward Sword released in late 2011, and.....Nintendo had both the Handheld and Console team working on Skyward Sword (I'm going to assume in 2011 as well) so how would they have had anyone working on this game in 2010? I'm confused...Also I really like the Motion Controls in SS I hope Nintendo doesn't drop them. As for the style, I'm fine with anything to be honest as long as it isn't super-realistic (gross..
When it comes to Zelda rumours I'm reluctant to believe anything because just this year along there have been so many fake rumours. It might as well say,
"My imaginary friend Mr. Bigglesworth has told me that there exists a magical land of chocolate on the other side Mt. Vesuvius 100 feet under the ground."
@Mango_Magician That kind of thing has been done before. AC3 was in development for a few years even though other games in the series where still coming out. It's usually early concept art and designing the engine
i don't doubt that they are planning asap , but also 2013 should be the year for the tokyo guys , retro , and mariokart wii u probably . Smash also probably . So zelda for 2014 does look like a real possibility . I hope they'll keep /add the motion controls , i guess people who don't like those are just weird to me . I'll gladly put them in the "i love the win button" category , or the "lock kill button of cod is so cool category" .Skyward sword , and i only started the game , reminds me of zelda 2 when each encounter is a puzzle in itself . Playing the sword fight with an analog stick would be so lame ... BUT maybe an improvement over the auto aim auto lock mash one button system of many action game ... ...
nah it just would not work . I'm sure a game will jump at that , and many will proclaim it the zelda skyward killer , but just no .
OR maybe nintendo will follow up on their intention and release as a 2013 early titles a FULL zelda game .... in the form of another link's training ! The producer hoped to do an online game of that at one point , and that would be fantastic . It might also dilute the brand and not reach any form of success ...
when you click on the link, the tab at the top is titled "wii u zelda coming in 2013", but the article was changed to 2014.... was it a simple typo, or did the author change his mind to 2014 after starting the article to try and make it sound more believable?
@LegendofSantiago This.
Didn't read the obvious looking for hits article, but aside from Swimming and Skydiving [and some de-syncing problems on the menu screens], the motion [and combat] controls were very, very good, imho!
Zelda Wii U can surely just keep the WM+ controls [defaulting the aforementioned back to tradition] and have the GamePad, in one's lap, act as the map, inventory etc. functions?
I guess I'm the only one who wants a return to the Wind Waker art style. They could do incredible things with that style on a modern console.
I wouldn't mind it either [even if I'd like to see a darker styled Zelda, evoking 'a world that is much, much bigger than you' thoughts, a call back to oldschool titles].
I'd definitely be using this alot, if it happened, though:
Oh. And other than the return of dynamic time and an actual, good overworld - no sidekick this time, Nintendo - I want Link to go it alone this time [and feel more like a true adventurer]!
Well its probably fake, but they did it the right way and maintained a shred of belief, only because nothing is included that CAN'T be true
This... This is what I mean.
Come up with some good uses for that tablet.
nope... delayed until 2015... because a delayed game eventually becomes good... but a bad game is bad forever
i wouldn't mind if they used the windwaker stlye again, but i think we'll see that continue on the 3DS. skyword art stlye in detailed HD? it would look... amazing.
a 2014 release doesn't seem to far fetched. i remember someone from nintendo recently said they wanted to get zelda games out more often. having a larger development team means they could have a shorter development time without sacrificing quality (hopefully). i mean, look at naughty dog. they've released 3 uncharted games and have a new ip coming, all in the span of the ps3 life cycle (all high caliber games too) ...mean while nintendo release one zelda game on the wii. that's not really good enough in this day and age and i think nintendo realizes it too. i don't expect them to start cranking out a title every two years like naughty dog, but i don't think it would be to much to ask for two titles per console again.
i can't say much about motion controls or how the game will look, but one thing i'm certain of is that the next zelda will come sooner rather than later. mark my words.
Yeah...that's the only Miyamoto quote that I can think of where he has no clue what he's talking about.
The hype can't start early enough for a Zelda game, no mater what game play mechanics, art style they use or how different/similar it is to earlier games I'm sure it will be great. I haven't been disappointed so far.
LOL, what? Skyward Sword Bombed hard. It is one of the worst selling Zelda titles ever. A sweet-spot? I guess if you don't want your games to sell. Everything about Skyward Sword needs to be abandoned in the next game. They need to focus on Zelda I, II, and III and make a game built around them.
Source? SS is easily my least favourite 3D Zelda, so I'd quite like it if it didn't sell well and therefore they took a much different approach with the next game, but I've not really heard anything to support that.

It sold 3.52 million at the end of March(I haven't found anything more recent). It didn't bomb but it's not doing as well as some people expected apperently.
@TSweirdo Given the length of time it's been out, at this stage in the system's lifecycle and requiring people to buy new controllers for it, I'd say that's a fairly respectable number TBH.
Agreed, but there are still some people who think it failed/bombed when that's obviously not the case.
