Tekken producer enjoying collaboration with Nintendo for Tekken Tag Tournament 2

A portion of a Siliconera interview with Tekken series producer Katsuhiro Harada...

S: That’s interesting and quite astute to notice the early bird players. Back at Nintendo’s press conference we saw the Mega Mushroom as an item that made Heihachi gigantic in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 for Wii U. That was pretty interesting! What else can you tell us about the Wii U version?

KH: Well, it is kind difficult to mention much because we are focusing on the Xbox 360 and the PS3 versions as the PR focus. But we can say this – because we are collaborating with Nintendo we really wanted to create features like [the Mega Mushroom] that are only possible because we are collaborating with Nintendo. That’s just one example and we hope that everyone will be looking forward to the other things we have to show.

why are they being so secretive about the Wii U version? And why is the "PR focus" on PS3/360? Why dont they include the Wii U logo at the end of the TTT2 trailers? What is going on???

@gojiguy
Probably no big deal, actually. Probably.

That was probably done since Tekken Tag Tournament 2 comes out on the PS3 and 360 a few months before the WiiU version is released (I assume as a WiiU release-date title).

Because the PS3/360 versions are coming out relatively soon, at least in Japan. It recently got a 39/40 in Famitsu, so I guess that means it's coming out soon.

They better not f'ed up the Wii U version like they did with the 3DS game. There's still no excuse why the 3DS game was a rushed bare-bone release and why there was no Tekken game on a Nintendo console for a long time even though Namco-Bandai says the Tekken series has a rich history on Nintendo consoles.

nice talk , but you know tekken guy , go back and bring us at least soul calibur , and then take all that confidence and ask the bandai part to finally use some of their licenses on the nintendo platforms . One piece , hokuto no ken , it's the weirdest thing multiplatform (ken) but just not for nintendo . Nintendo gave you and your team the glory and possibilities of smash bros , it's time to make a choice. Not really a choice , i mean multiplatform it's all good .

@gojiguy Same reason with Darksiders 2 - they don't wanna piss of the PS360 fanbase by showcasing the superior version alongside. No idea on the lack of a Wii U logo in most of the coming game trailers, though.

Advertising for all Wii U ports will [presumably] begin after next week's show [or, with the likes of ACIII and Black Ops 2, probably later on in Early Nov].
