Coming from the latest issue of Game Informer...
This seems like an updated version of the original Wii U tech demo that had a Metroid-style design to it. You can check out more pics at the link below.
More screens here (thanks Four Swords!)

Looking good!
@ddddd
And the probably Super Metroid music in the background of the levels. (Norfair)
WHAT...IS...HAPPENING???
From the magazine scan:
"The lava-filled Norfair map is my favorite, complete with a massive, mechanical Kraid that players can ascend using their grapple beams."
WHAT? Kraid's Hideout is beneath Brinstar! Not Norfair! Brinstar! *grumble*
uhhh... i mean.... 2/10
F*** THIS GAME
Liking the look of this. Better than the Zelda one even.
Still hoping for pack-in status so I can actually play it though...heh.
Now that's more like it
Dammit, I just said in another thread that I've settled with which things to buy come launch. But this stuff looks interesting enough to warrant a purchase even it the game isn't a pack-in. I got extremely hyped for the NSMBU and the Wii U over the last 30 minutes. Thank you random consolewars user and thank you Game Informer. =D
My excitement reached the pre-E3 level again.
Shhhhhhh! Thats the plot twist of the next metroid game!
This. My Hype level IT'S OVER 9000! once again.
So...Metroid Blast will be the best Metroid-related game released since Zero Mission? (Not including Trilogy)
@KingBroly: What about MP3? ^^
and just like that I feel like I'm excited for nintendoland now
Hunters single player was a little weak, but not THAT bad...
That was made by Retro, not Nintendo.
Retro is a first party studio of Nintendo, so it's Nintendo.
There's always someone that doesn't miss an oportunity to mock Other M.
I see we've gotten obligatory Other M hate out of the way. With that done, I'm super glad that Metroid is included in Nintendoland, and that it's the same fun-looking game that was shown off at E3 2011.
It's Metroid related so it is cool in my book.
This is not new. We saw it last year.
They may call it Metroid. But it ain't Metroid.
So much this!
the graphics are still unimpressive... they had a year to work on them lol. Oh well, I still pray this will be a pack-in game.
Yeah, no.
Retro is Nintendo and they did not make Hunters. They just did character designs and advised it.
Other than fancy lights it doesn't seem to be doing a lot graphically though.
Well it is a Nintendo game!
