So there will be some multiplayer games only and you can't play with a CPU in them? That's what it sounds like.

So not all the mini games support off-tv play?

That's what it sounds like. Like you're stuck only playing games that a single player. That would be seriously stupid. Especially considering that the game isn't even online multiplayer.

No, it sounds like there's games where you can play by yourself, period.

...Yeah, I know for a fact that I'm not going to have anyone to play this with, so a single player option is imperative for all games included.

Doesn't seem likely at this point, but I'd love to be proven wrong.

We need online on this title.

@Hisiru

Online play wouldn't function properly with a game like this. Many of the game's involve helping each other by yelling back and forth and working as a team against the other player(s). That type of experience just falls flat Online. There is Miiverse support though.

As for playing against cpu players, again that wouldn't work right either. Just look at a game like Animal Crossing Sweet Day... how in the world would that be even 1% as enjoyable if they were CPU players. It wouldn't be fun at all.

Not all the mini games support GamePad play only because several of them require viewing the game from 2 perspective like Luigi's Mansion, Animal Crossing, Legend of Zelda and so on.

Surprised they didn't mention Takamaru's Castle or whatever. That's also single player right? Or does it have a "pass it on" feature where you take turns?

@NeroSuferoth

Not all games for Wii U in general support off-TV play, so it's not that weird.

@CrispyGoomba

I don't actually see anything that implies that in the above information. Just that there are Single Player only.

@TheBitBlock

I guess Voice Chatting with friends (emphasis, since I know people like to pull the crap like online play is only with randoms) to play online is a foreign concept to you. There's a mic in the controller (like the 3/DS) so it's possible without a WiiSpeak thing.

And as fun or not, some people aren't going to have the option to play with a lot of people, let alone 5. I'm only going to have one, maybe two people to play with unless it is a birthday or something.

As for the double perspective, that's not necessarily true if there are single player options. If you played Luigi in Single Player, you'd probably be the ghost and would not need the TV for that, and Zelda you could opt to just be the Archer. You don't need the TV view in order to do either of those. And I don't see how the TV even benefits Animal Crossing for the Pad Player unless you're peeking at where the human players are. If it's CPUs, it'd add an element of not knowing where anyone is, as intended.

Are those as fun or more desired? No. But they're options for people who can't play with others immediately or all the time, and precisely WHY this game should be a PACK-IN since $50+ is a lot for a game that can't be fully enjoyed by yourself.

That's a load of bull! Online play would be perfect for this game. Voice chat via the Upad or a working WiiSpeak would work with ease. Hell! Why not even do some video chat while they are at it?.... Oh... NIntendo and online-.... :?:

The Ninja Castle game is also single player... though maybe not ONLY single player. At E3 only one player could play it at a time.

@MoldyClay

Yes, not all games, that I understand.. I just assumed this game was built around the concept of off-tv gameplay too in a way of presenting the Ucontroller features.

But yeah, I imagine some controlling issues for certain games would come up with off-tv gameplay alone.

Ohh my that does sound like a problem. Luckily other consoles have implemented this little feature called voice chat it's really simple actually you just buy a little 10 dollar Bluetooth headset from Best Buy or any place else and suddenly I can talk with people online it's really amazing and I wish Nintendo would look into it. It works pretty well I just used it to write out this whole message
