Coming from analyst David Gibson...
from nintendo- 75% of 3ds have connected to the network in japan, fire-emblem had 15% dlc incremental revenues higher than company av. 6%
I really think DLC like that in Fire Emblem: Awakening is going to do very well in the states. Let's hope we show Nintendo that!

DLC, sucess, Nintendo? Uh oh
"75% of 3ds have connected to the network in japan"
Those are some impressive numbers considering how many 3DSs are out there.

If i recall correctly FE by itself did rather well, correct? This also seems very impressive. This should encourage Nintendo to do more DLC (for better or worse)
What, you'd prefer otherwise?
That is correct. Awakening did really, really good.
Fire emblem DLC is DLC done right. Certainly wouldn't mind more DLC similar to it in the future especially if it helps out our favorite franchises! FE13 did pretty well compared to other FEs. I remember being happy about it doing well then being slightly disappointed when TriG completely blew it out of the water.
So, 25% of Japan isn't connecting their 3DS to the internet? While this might seem high only 80% of Japan is connected to the internet, so that really means only 5% are not connecting to it with their 3DS. (Don't quote this as fact.)

I like what was done with Fire Emblem Awakening's DLC (minus some of the awful new looks and/or costumes for characters). It's all great fan service, new challenges, and stuff that constantly adds stuff post release. Best of all, none of it is on disc (or in this case, cartridge) DLC.
A 75% connection rate? WOW, that's pretty freakin incredible.
@Johnknight1 This.
Can't believe I've actually read people whining about it.
Not when Capcom and S-E still exist...
@Mako
That's assuming only 80% of those with 3DSs are connected to the internet already, which we don't know. So... your 5% figure really means nothing.
Are there comparable connection rates for other consoles? How many Wii owners used the internet and wifi functionality? How many DS owners?
And heck, how about the competition? It's not like you do a whole lot without going online with an Xbox 360 or PS3.
Indeed. That is why I said to not quote me. While I'm sure there are plenty of 3ds users without internet access, we can't assume only 80% of them do.
@Mako
So...now you're saying there are more than 80% with internet connection, but not with their 3DS connected? Which would make your 5% comment redundent.
100% of 3DS owners could have an internet connection, just not have connected their 3DSs yet. While I know this is unlikely, it's still a possibility, and makes more sense than your first comment.
I understand what you're getting at though; not all 3DS owners have internet connection, and therefore while 75% are connected via 3DS, the percentage for those who actually could and have connect to the internet is going to be higher.
