No new Wave Race for the Wii pissed me off. I hope Nintendo does something for Wii U.

I'm thinking that the way they released it for the N64 and GameCube, to help show the graphical capabilities and physics possible on the system, that one on the Wii U would make a lot of sense...especially with the HD water effects.

Nintendo could have used Wave Race to show steering with motion controls, like many of the games in Wii Sports Resort. They ended up releasing the N64 game on Virtual Console, and I was happy (but I already own that one)...I was hoping that it'll lead to a true Wii sequel. :(

I wonder if Nintendo still considers Wave Race an important franchise. I don't know why it, along with Star Fox, 1080, and F-Zero, were all skipped this past generation.
...oh, Nintendo.

***If anyone else reading this haven't played Wave Race series before on Nintendo 64 and Gamecube, you should give them a try.***

I'm not as optimistic as I used to be before the Wii generation started. Nintendo just wants to continue to own the franchise name.
I think, at most, Nintendo will probably just have Wave Race: Blue Storm available on Virtual Console, which will be fine for those who haven't played it. (Again), I already have it. So if they're not creating a new game in the series for the next generation, then I guess the series is probably done for good.

What do I want?
I'm thinking of a future Wave Race game with:
- beautiful graphics in HD
- silky, smooooooooth 60 frames per second
- game can be played on the GamePad screen.
- multiplayer split screen offline exhibition, tutorial, ring, stunt, and Championship race modes
- unlockable stages
- racers' stats can be upgraded
- unlockable songs for each stage
- unlockable jetskis
- can adjust the weather and strength of the waves
- can ride the dolphin (of course!)
- can race at different times of the day or night
- unlockable outfits and accessories for your racers
- compatible with all Wii/U controllers (no forced motion controls)
- players can use their own custom soundtrack (either by playing through USB with MP3 players, with music saved on Wii U internal storage, or with music stored on the SD card.) Supports multiple formats (not just mp3).
- your Miis are playable
- Online multiplayer modes. Like Mario Kart Wii, multiple players can play from a single console online.
- The game will be COMPLETE when you buy it. There will be NO missing features/characters/whatever as paid DLC. F that S!

To make the series sell more, add Mario and his friends. Lots of tv commercials and magazine ads will definitely get the series going again.
