"We are very interested in the Nintendo 3DS as a platform. I view 3DS as a proper, straightforward evolution from a platform that has had huge success. Being able to view stereoscopic 3D with the naked eye is a great innovation, but very straightforward, so I'm very interested in it. Currently we have a lot of titles in development, and we can't fund a 3DS game ourselves. So there's nothing in the works. But I'm very positive on it." - executive director Atsushi Inaba
Time for Nintendo to team up again and have Platinum bring some of their magic to the 3DS!

...madworld 2?
Wouldn't work with those controllers. MadWorld is a game that NEEDS motion controllers!
Something original perhaps?
@Entity I imagine something rather simple would be needed...well, i keep on thinking of beat-em-ups or hack and slash games, but that's really not all they can do. They did make okami, i imagine they can do do a lot, so i guess i'll just withdraw my speculation.
Vanquish 2! You heard it here first, folks!
Really wish Capcom would give them the rights for Okami and V-Joe. Now V-Joe for the 3DS! Oh yeah. That could work. All that over the top cartoon action in 3D?
I agree that most of their games are action on top of more action. But as you said, they are behind Okami! They can do other things
Mysterious Castle and Star Fox could work on either system~
I do hope it's a bit less Infinite Space this time.
Can Nintendo just please make Platinum First Party.
All that talent, I could just imagine all the butthurt.
No.... no it really didn't.
Another Okami would be nice. Okamiden was nice considering it was made by the team that handled the Wii port, but I'd like to see what could be made with the people behind the original.
I agree. Something like NMH to do finishers yes. The PS3 version loses some of that charm. Madworld was a little too much with their motion controls.
The PS3 / 360 crowd would blow a gasket...
... make it so!
wow the hate was flowing out there , and that was for an announcement of possibly a steam pc support . Any platinum games would be good on 3ds , but i guess ironically i would say a shooter might be better than madworld . The 3d effect might be more striking and they said that was a great strength of the 3ds . Come to think of it , vanquish would be quite funny to have , just for the reactions .
I really hope to see them do something with the system!
GOD no. Not on a handheld.
Vanquish 2 needs to happen, but only in high res and on a big TV screen.
MadWorld needed motion controllers. I can see MadWorld2 working beautifully with the 3D and with a stylus too. It needs to be different enough not just additional levels.
I dunno about MadWorld 2 either. Monochrome art on a 400x240 screen with the typically low to no anti-aliasing of the 3DS? I can only imagine it as a mess of flickery pixels and eyestrain.
MadWorld was one of those games that made just made the game so awesome with the motion controls. The adrenaline of the game was the reason and well thought controls. Using "normal" controllers would take away a deal of the fun. A good deal I think. Wold still be a kick arse game, but...nah. Of course Mr. negative in every posts must disagree
They're already doing a sequel on the Wii U, so why not something original on the 3DS?
They're already doing something original on the Wii U as well, though.
MadWorld would have been worse without motion controls because it really didn't have much going for it besides the motion controls and its creative style. At it's core it's not really a good game, just a cool one. I view NMH 1 the same way tbh. With some refinements to the gameplay formula I could see the series becoming an awesome beat 'em up even with a normal controller but it seriously needs some polish
@ Darth Vader
Well. Does not agree there. Think the motion controls really made the game in many important ways. Waggle was actually getting the agression out (well. It was fun to waggle and beat up them bastards). And the other usages of the controls.
It just would not have been the same with your "normal" controller.
The game did need more polish. Platinum said so themselves. But time and money were not on their side. Heck. Bayonetta needed some final polish. But they obviously had more time with that. Hope Nintendo gives time, money and development help for the second part. And, of course, creative freedom. What would PG be without that?
I don't think the game was bad when you take into account the controls. The core gameplay could be improved upon but yeah it was mostly the motion control that made the game worth playing. They were definitely awesome in that over the top way. I'm just saying that something like a sequel could still retain most of its over the top awesomeness on a system like 3DS or Wii U w/gamepad controls provided the combat flowed better and had more depth to it. That's not to say I would reject a sequel with motion controls if the same advancements were made, especially now that WM+ is basically a standard. And the Platinum/Nintendo team-up for Bayonetta 2 gives me hope for the future of this IP as well.
would like for them to work on something new and original OR take a nintendo franchise and do something interesting with it. i would love to see a platinum games version of metroid for example.
