My multiplayer partner has been unavailable so we haven't been able to start Borderlands 2 yet. It's torture! I'm totally chomping at the bit for this one.

That's up to the publishers, not the developers. That's why Aliens Colonial Marines, which is developed by Gearbox but published by Sega, is being released on Wii U. It's the publishers who decide where and what platform a game goes to.
Gearbox Software admits that seeing their upcoming game Borderlands 2 on the Wii U “would just be fantastic”. The publisher 2k Games has yet to exhibit an interest in the matter though.
Gearbox Software’s Chief Creative Officer Brian Martel shares the developers opinion on the Wii U as a platform; “We really like the Wii U, I think it’s a really cool platform.” says Brian. “I like what they’re doing and it will be interesting to see what Microsoft does with their approach to that idea. It’s one of those problems of the Wii: the only people who have ever made a lot of money on the Wii is Nintendo.”
Martel also touched on Aliens: Colonial Marines, which is also being developed by Gearbox Software, and set for a release on the Wii U. “So we’re really excited to bring Aliens: Colonial Marines to it. And we’re going to do a wait and see approach, our publisher 2k Games is going to see whether they’re going to go with that.”
Martel then addressed his feelings on whether Borderlands 2 is suitable for the Wii U, stating: “If Borderlands 2 was on the Wii U, the thing I would be most excited about is inventory management: it would be amazing on that, it would just be fantastic. And I think the artwork would look really good, with the way they can deal with the resolutions and textures, I think it’s a really good console.”
Hope for those willing to hold out. (Like me, but only because I have no money.) Personally all I want is BLOPSII style split screen on the gamepad. Good lawd, I hate split screen now but love local co-op.

I really want to, but I STILL havent finished Borderlands, Ive played something between 10-20 hours, and I havent managed to do jack in the story.
Its like STALKER all over again, I just cant stay on track and end up wandering around in search of the next big bad rifle.
The first Borderlands had a Mario nod too.
That's pretty cool. I like seeing little easter eggs like this in games.
I am so deep into Borderlands 2 it's almost scary. I f you have the means, give it a shot. x_x
i want this game so badly lol but I am going to wait for the game of the year edition with all the DLC since that will be super cheap
