Nomura considered a full-scale remake of Kingdom Heart; 358/2 Days

How would you like to see a remake of Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days? It actually almost happened, says series director Tetsuya Nomura. Unfortunately, the project never came to be due to other projects in the works. Who knows, maybe the chance will crop up again later.

If it happened, it wouldn't be Nintendo news anymore.

He was probably planning to do it for the KH1.5 HD Collection/Remix whatever, so it would've been for PS3, just like the CoM remake for PS2. There wouldn't have been a Wii or Wii U remake, which would've sucked.

Though Wii U would make perfect sense.

Honestly, this wouldn't be that much interesting.
358/2 Days isn't really a memorable game.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Maybe that's why he wants to remake it?

@MoldyClay seeing how the fans of kh are on both platforms now i don't see why SE limited the HD re-release to one platform

@ProtoKun It and Coded weren't needed point blank tbh.

That's such a shame. Even if it would have been for the PS3. It was impressive to see them actually remake KH:CoM for the PS2. Although I never got far in it because the fighting was just too different for me and I didn't really care for it.

So they go the OOT3D route and just remaster the game and rerelease it. Meh. Still better than OOT3D, though, as this one actually contains more than that rip-off ever did.

Somehow SE made me lose all interest in KH3, this doesn't help.

Confirmed: This was a comment in regards to PS3, so I don't know why this is Nintendo news, since, we wouldn't be getting it.

@Chosenoneknuckles

Coded was a phone game originally though. It was only meant to be supplemental. The only point of Coded was the ending.

The reason we even got the DS version was to make it more of a game.

358/2 Days was also supplemental and only there to expand the story of Roxas and things that would later be explained by Birth By Sleep, sort of.

Chain of Memories falls in line with this as well for the most part.

@LegendofSantiago

Because Nomura is a Sony fanboy. All of the Nintendo KH games (except Dream Drop Distance maybe?) are side-story, supplemental titles. The main titles are all on Sony platforms, and they remade CoM for PS2 and intended to remake 358/2 Days for PS3.

It's like they want to disconnect from Nintendo as much as possible. I'm surprised they even did KH3D.

Yeah, it'd make sense to put it on Nintendo platforms due to us having the side games, but it'd also make sense to put Metal Gear HD collection and Lords of Shadow on Nintendo platforms, but where are those?

Get off your high horse. Kingdom Hearts looks amazing on Sony's systems. Kingdom Hearts took forever to look good on Nintendo's systems(Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance). Nintendo isn't that amazing to be inclined to everything. If you want to play KH, you should play on the superior console. I'm buying a PS3 just for the new collection.

Because KH is a better fit for Sony and will maximize their brand.

@melvin2898

Nomura IS a Sony fanboy and you have to be blind and deaf to believe otherwise.

Even the ending of Coded isn't relevant as
Spoiler:
it's one plot point is outright stated in the ending of DDD by Ansem the Wise.

And Days. It doesn't add anything to the series, what with Xion being an unnecessary extension of Kairi and Namine.

Chain of Memories, at least, set-up a whole game, so I don't deem it pointless or unimportant.
