Backbone Entertainment is making layoffs with talk of a complete shut down, according to two sources at the company.
One of IGN's sources, however, says that a closure isn't yet a forgone conclusion, and that the company will attempt to "keep it going smaller."

Aw man, thats sad to hear. Backbone Entertainment's biggest successes came from their ports, but I enjoyed the Death Jr series as well as Monster Lab.
They weren't triple A games but they were still fun (especially since I got them for a budget price).
Hopefully they do stick around smaller, if they do maybe it'll just be porting things to PSN/XBLA (and hopefully eShop soon)?
That sucks. The Death Jr. port on Wii is quite fun.
