GoNintendo 'End of Day' thought - What are you buying at Wii U launch?

Thanks to Poopaloop for the image!

While I'm normally not one to be excited about Mondays, I do have a reason to smile. Each new week gets us that much closer to the Wii U! Keep working hard and before you know it, Wii U will be here! See you in a few, short hours!

With Wii U preorders sold out at most major retailers, I'm guessing that a handful of you are planning on picking up Nintendo's new console on day one. While we were all excited about 3DS, I think Nintendo fans get even more excited about console launches. They don't happen to often! Unbelievably, the Wii U launch is just barely over a month away!

So you've secured your Wii U already. You're going with basic/deluxe based on a number of reasons. Could be availability, pack-in interest, color choice or whatever else. The real important thing we need to talk about is software! Game consoles live and die by the games they bring out. Thankfully, the Wii U's launch lineup is looking to offer all sorts of variety.

As Wii Sports was the showcase for the Wii, Nintendo Land is going to be the go-to game for the Wii U when learning how the new controller works. It'll also be the game that you bring out around friends and family to teach them what the Wii U is all about. If you're going deluxe bundle, Nintendo Land is heading your way.

If you're getting the basic bundle, let us know if you're picking up Nintendo Land as well. Outside of that, we'd love to hear what all of you will be grabbing on day one. Will original titles like ZombiU and New Super Mario Bros. U be on your list? Do you plan on picking up some of the ports that will be available? Are you saving some cash for eShop games? Leave a comment and let us know!

BUT, I am interested in:
ZombiU
Black Ops II
LEGO City: Undercover
Rabbids Land
The digital - Trine 2, Mutant Mudds, Runner2, Nano Assault Neo, Toki Tori 2, and Little Inferno

Assassin's Creed III has me interested, but I missed II, not sure which route I'll go there.
Batman Arkham City has me very interested, as I just finished the first one not even 2 weeks ago.

I'm leaning toward getting ZombiU day one, and Rabbids Land (really enjoyed the Rabbids games on the Wii)...Black Ops II will be either Wii U, or PS3, and I'm at a 75% Wii U, 25% PS3 feeling right now. I just want Nintendo to detail their online stuff.

I am definitely interested in a lot of them though: Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101, even Tank! Tank! Tank!...I just want a few more details.

Oh, and some small little game, New Super Mario Bros. U.

AC is one of the most story heavy games I have ever seen outside of an RPG. You should at least play the 4 main games before you tackle III. You are safe skipping the DS/PSP games at least :)

Wii U Deluxe, Assassin's Creed 3, and hopefully ZombiU and a Wii U Pro.

@BlueRangerVegeta

IGN has said a lot of BS before, so you shouldn't hold on to every little detail they say. Also I'm pretty sure you can turn off some of the features on the gamepad if you don't like them, so it's really an easy fix. Also the gripe about looking down at the gamepad has mostly come from Microsoft and Sony, so if your so worried about that I dont think you should worry about posting on an article about what your going to get on launch day for the Wii U. Finally AC III is starting off with a new story line and a new character, so it's perfectly fine for someone to jump into the series with this entry, just like the devs have been saying all along. And if I want to get associated with the WHOLE story line, it doesn't take much for me to hop online and read for 20 minutes to get acquainted with the series.

ALSO various sources have claimed that the Wii U version of Assassins Creed 3 is the best looking version out of the three. So actually I could argue that AC3 Wii U is the superior version.

I got the Wii U Basic, Assassin's Creed 3 and Black Ops 2 for launch (I can't wait for the campaign mode.)

Since my birthday is in December I will probably get my self 007 Legends/Batman Arkham City, and whichever one I don't get then I will get after Christmas.

I am getting a Deluxe Wii U and I already have New Super Mario Bros. U pre-ordered. I will also be getting ZombiU pre-ordered this week. After launch if I got $60 burning a hole in my pocket I will get either Call of Duty Black Ops II (I loved the first one) or Epic Mickey 2 (which should be out on launch day, its Mickeys Birthday! Still need to finish the first one). Also looking forward to Pikmin 3 and Rayman Legends. Might get A few digital games Mighty Switch Force HD, Trine 2, Mutant Mudds HD (if available at launch).

I preordered the 32gb Deluxe set because of the Nintendo Land pack in. I also preordered 2 games: New Super Mario Bros. U and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. I can't wait until release day!!

My plan is:

Premium bundle with Nintendo Land
New Super Mario Bros. U
Zombi U
and COD Black Ops 2

It's gonna be a pricey winter, but luckily I've been saving up money and gift cards all year for this. Rejoice, a new Nintendo system is upon us!!

Oh god its you. We have had this discussion before and you dont care to listen, fine
But dont spread your BS and confuse others. This is the end of the Desmond arc. This is the end to the story that started in AC1. I have played a lot of AC since we spoke and can assure you story/continuity is VERY important. Ezios story took place 500 years after Altairs and it still had a massive impavt

Any developer will always say their next game is a great place to jump on. The same was said about Revelations

It is not. This is the last chapter in Desmond story, the last 4 games stories are tying into this one very heavily. Please stop commenting on stuff you know nothing about.
And IGN more
ften than not is dead on with their Nintendo coverage (exxept Audrey). If they say the gamepad was an annoyance/hindrance then I trust that it was.

I'm getting Epic Mickey 2 for the Wii at Wii U launch.

Because I'm not getting Wii U at launch, dohoho. But it's more a money issue. I want it. I loved the demos I played so far. I missed the boat and won't have the cash in time.

My birthday is the day before launch, but my parents can't do anything big this year due to some issues we hit a few months ago, so I'll be lucky getting anything, honestly.

What games do I want?

I want ALL the GAMES!!! -minus the cruddy ones.

But since I have a budget I need to work with, and I'm planning on continuing college next year, I'm just setting for the Deluxe WiiU bundle with Nintendoland, ZombiU, The Wonderful101 and Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed.

Not sure if I will get a wii u. Waiting on info about vc games mainly, and just their general strategy with the online element. Seeing that we are a month away and know very little, I assume it will be a mess for the first year or so. Seems very incompetent.

But if I do get one I will get AC3 (never played the others but watched my friend play AC2, and I could care less about the story. The naval battles look awesome and I like the setting of the game being in the woods), perhaps nintendoland but I am not impressed at all with it so far, lego city looks pretty funny and I could play it with my wife. Might get mario but again I haven't been that impressed with it so far. Still waiting for a real sequel to mario world.

Deluxe Wii U and planning to buy Assassin's Creed 3, with Zombi U or Darksiders 2.

deluxe bundle with Mario U and Black ops 2!

how can you afford ALL the games?? lol

I can only afford a Deluxe console, and Super Mario. I want to get a Pro Controller, but the experience is really with the Gamepad, so I may wait for that. I'll probably get a $20 eShop card so I can get some download titles, like Little Inferno.

If I had more money, I'd probably get Scribblenauts. It was great for the DS, but it seems perfect for Wii U. Especially with the sharing capabilities. I downloaded Mutant Mudds Demo on my 3DS, so if I like it I'll get the Wii U version.

I have to agree with Emily Rogers (gasp) on this one: The eShop launch is STACKED with great games. You can get so many of them for the same price as just one game you might be bored with in a week, so it's definitely something to think about.

I'd get Toki Tori 2 and Mighty Switch Force too, just simply because I want to support those companies.

Arkham City is damn good enough to play through again, though. That game is seriously good. It took a while to master (and I still suck at combat!) but it almost reminded me of a Zelda game with all the gadgets and puzzle solving. Simply amazing.

I'm buying Sonic Racing Transformed for my PS3 though, maybe, but that shouldn't harm Wii U sales at all.

Not interested in Black Ops 2, and I'm sure Zombii U is fun, but I don't get the zombie craze and have never really liked them.

Anyways, I have a little bit of a different way of income, so I'll eventually be able to buy more games.

I was going to buy Paper Mario Sticker Star, but from what I've read, it doesn't even seem like a Paper Mario game anymore so I'll wait on that...

When money's tight, you really gotta decide on what you really want, and what you MUST have. And put it in BOLD too. :P

I FINALLY secured my launch Deluxe WiiU unit yesterday (Walmart's holiday layway - they just started taking "preorders" of Wii U through it yesterday, so I imagine most stores would still have some orders left). The only game I'm excited enough about to pay the full $60 on top of the Deluxe price is Assasin's Creed - I'll probably get ZombieU and Darksiders sometime, especially the price of the latter drops. And I'd get Mass Effect if we weren't just limited to the 3rd entry instead of the entire trilogy... :?

Oh, plus I helped KickStart Cloudberry Kingdom so I'll be picking up that as well (for semi-free :P ).

What he said. Those are the games I've pre-ordered. And I'm slightly less likely on Trine 2, but still considering it.

Everything non-Nintendo had shovel controls for the most part.

Will be sitting out on the third party touchscreen fail on Wii U.

I have paid off in full:

Wii U Deluxe with Nintendoland
New Super Mario Bros. U
Scribblenauts Unlimited (with preorder bonus hat)
ZombiU
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (I haven't bought a call of duty since MW2, but zombie mode and playing on the wiipad sold me)

I have preordered:

Wii U Deluxe
New Super Mario Bros U
ZombiU
Rayman Legends
One Pro Controller.

Since Rayman isn't coming for a little while, I think i'll move that money over to one of the games. I almost have the system paid off. The games are gunna take some extra time. Maybe some trade-ins? Who knows. But man, is my wallet gunna be hurting me. And that's okay, because I personally haven't been this excited for a system since the GameCube.
