Style Savvy: Trendsetters' eShop file size will eat your SD card alive

Take a guess at how big the download version of Style Savvy: Trendsetters is. Go ahead, take a guess. Did you come up with 10,500 blocks? Yeah, the game is ready to destroy any empty space you have on your SD card, and this is BEFORE you get DLC! Looks like this one might need an SD card to itself!

That's one of the reasons why I don't want to get downloadable retail game. Would rather use all the space for more eShop games.

Daaaaaaaaaaammn. I played the demo and it really is a fun game.. strange enough. I have a passion for fashion? I dunno, but I liked the way I dressed my model lol Better than the way the CPU dressed theirs.. Daaaamn.

What does 10,500 equal? A gig?

If it requires an SD card for itself, that kind of defeats the entire point of downloading it (saving space by not having carts/boxes) other than not having to go to the store.

And like JJOR64 said, I'd rather use the space for... you know, actual downloadable games, things I can't get on a cartridge.

well at least 16gig size sdcard is only about ten bucks , paying ten times that , that would be crazy

I have like 95,000 left on my 16GB card. The only downloadable game I may get is Animal Crossing. It's a good idea, but the price for a card that can hold all games is quite high.

I think this is a sign that nintendo are more serious with online content and all that, considering only those serious about downloadable content would have such a large SD card in their 3DS, and those are the people they're catering to with this. I guess 16~32gb cards will be standard rather soon though.

My 32GB card laughs at this.

@Wii_Jedi
SD Cards are very cheap. The price of a 16GB SD Card costs as much as a 2GB card back in 2006.

This is exactly why I stay away from downloadable retail games; until I can get an SD memory card that is at least 64GB for a reasonable price, I will be buying all of my games physical, thank you. It's one of the main problems I have with the Vita. Three PSone games on a 4 GB card and already its full. Not when each memory card is $30.

I'm Sarah Hyland and I'm not a gamer. With my Nintendo 3DS I'm an SD card eviscerater.

I'll just get that 128 GB card. And problems solved forever.

Will the 3Ds even take that? I thought 32g was the max size it would accept.

It can as long as the SD card is reformatted to FAT32.

You format it to FAT32 and the 3DS recognizes it.

Awesome. Wish I'd known that before I cheaped out and bought my 8 gb card.

Thanks for setting me straight. Hopefully I will see a 128g on sale for under $100 after Xmas, then I should be set for life :)

Why is it such a surprise? The game is packed with content, so of course it's gonna take up a lot of space. I was surprised how fast it downloaded, it only took half an hour for me.

@Autosaver

Heck even cheaper! I remember when the Wii came out I got a 2 GB SD card for my birthday and I got it for like $30-$40. This past August I got my 16 GB for $10.

I think this story is being a tad sensationalized. Sure if you're using your default SD card, you're either not going to fit it or you won't have much else, but anyone serious about digital distribution is most likely going to have anywhere from an 8-32 GB card, which turns this into a non-issue.

1300 MB. It's not THAT big.

For the smaller cards, sure. But as I said, to be able to download every game you are going to need a rather large card. 1GB here, 2GB there, and before you know it it's full. My ideal size to comfortably fit games would be 128GB. Not so cheap anymore.

My 32GB SD card is always going "feed me"! This would be a great snack if I had any interest in the game.
