"We are very excited to deliver Need for Speed: Most Wanted on more platforms and to more gamers. Starting Oct. 30, Most Wanted will be available on X360, PS3, PS Vita, Android and iOS. Then in 2013, Nintendo fans will be able to experience what it means to be Most Wanted amongst their friends on the Wii U." - EA rep
EA was not willing to part with more info than that. I'm guessing we'll have to wait until 2013 just to see the game. Thanks to HackernamedShodan for the heads up!

@M1
Late overpriced ports. Nothing wrong with getting the same games as everyone else.
Nice to finally get a confirmation. There are already a bunch of Wii U games coming out in 2012, so I'm willing to wait on Need for Speed Most Wanted, but I'm sure it'll be glorious when I do get my hands on it.
Thank God. My 360 finally packed in this week, so it was either a Wii U version or nothing for me.
Also I dont mind waiting a few months and getting a quality port, rather than a rushed Fifa 13 style half port.
Could it also be that EA wanted to get out of the launch window and into another period, that first dead-time when owners will buy almost anything.
Hopefully it will be good. I own all the Wii NFS games and it amazes me how the quality of the first ones was higher than those of the last ones.

See the respective Neogaf thread for the hilarious BS.
@M1
You don't understand the meaning.
According to da gaf, the port is done but it has been delayed to see if they can get people to double dip
If that's true then we can expect the Wii U version to have significantly more content and features than the other versions... I kinda doubt it though.
?
The game was originally developed for the 360, EA ported the code to every other system.
Obviously it is a port!
Not necessarily.
EA wants to ride the next gen hype with Wii U hoping that gamers will want a current gen and next gen version.
Blah either way this wouldn't have happened if Nintendo didn't bail on their unprecedented relationship with EA!
Becuase of the rumour that Nintendo rejected EA's proposal to have Origin as the Wii U's main online service?
EA would've shut off Miiverse's servers 2 years after the Wii U launched if they controlled its' servers.
Everyone should be glad at the fact that Nintendo didn't accept EA's asinine proposal, assuming it's true (and I believe it is).
I really don't believe that Origin/Wii U thing. Wouldn't that have meant that EA would have made their games exclusive to Wii U?
It was more than just a rumor, we had enough sources on the issue and it was credible enough.
Anyways EA has every reason do to stuff like this Nintendo.
@cbbomb
It would meant that Nintendo would have a had a real online presence for real gamers and the eShop would have been better because it would have ran on Origin like proposed online system with EA.
But Nintendo decided EA's online system wasn't good enough and they'd rather do it themselves.
@M1
Are you honestly confused about this being the 2005 game? It isn't.
I know it is a 2012 game.
All of EA's games are made for the 360, then ported to the other systems during development.
The Wii U is getting a port of a 2012 game.
Would you really want EA in charge of anything to do with controlling Nintendo in way/shape or form? Nintendo Network may turn out lousy but I would take it over EA's controlling ways anyday.
Do you really want to accept a horrible online experience when there are better alternatives being offered?
Origin is not a good online experience, period. Anything Nintendo puts out > Origin. As a side note, EA likes to kill online for games when it shouldn't be necessary.
THANK GOD, we didn't end up with that crap, spyware in our consoles! Anyone who rejects Origin automatically gets the Messiah status!
Stay away from the light! It's a TRAP!
Origin being the backbone of Miiverse is/was a bad idea in every sense of the word for two reasons:
#1 - EA having control over a major hardware manufacturer is bad for the manufacturer because it makes them look inept, in addition to them losing control over their company.
#2 - It's bad for every other 3rd party, since they'd have to go through EA for online support. COD on Wii U? Not happening. AC3? Nope. GTA? Nuh uh.
The second one is more important here. By saying no to EA, Nintendo basically got a simple golf clap of support from third parties not named Electronic Arts. Why? Because it's good for their business to not have to deal with Electronic Arts on that level. Activision WOULD NOT bring Call of Duty to Wii U if it had to run on Origin. And that's just one example.
Considering EA's childish behavior over the matter (EA Sports, Mass Effect 3/Trilogy, NFS:MW) I have to say let them pound sand until they get left behind on yet another Nintendo console.
When PS360 came out, they raised the prices for games, albeit the PS360 version of the game was much weaker than the PC version.
If the Wii U version of a game isn't better by any means, it's not worth more money! Why should I pay 50-70 bucks for a port, when the same game is available for my PC at around 20-40 bucks? The PC will always offer better visuals and maybe better controls, but Wii U has a very cool control scheme.

Even though its EA, Id get this game. I do want PCARS more, but they need a publisher for the console versions, and Im know for sure that NFSMW will actually come to WiiU.
I thought in 2009 they had switched that and now build on PS3 first?
@CaptainColon the 360 being weaker, easier to develop for, and where the most 3rd party games are sold is the reason that most 3rd party multiplats this gen are built on the 360 first (for better or worse) I don't know why devs would switch to ps3 as the main platform
