Well I'm sure no one is stopping him, he is his own boss. Maybe as a hobby he can direct an eshop title in his spare time. I'd like to see it.
BREAKING NEWS! Iwata's hands are soft!!! This deserves a separate article and it needs to be a top story.
Iwata is the President of an international company... That is unable to gain the same level of profits it had during almost two decades... I'm pretty certain he doesn't have any spare time at all these days. :/

Iwata is funny! It's so nice to see him more relaxed than when he is doing his presentations. Nintendo is blessed with two top guys who have a good sense of humor.

The shareholders are his bosses. Also what Elfteiroh said.
Might want to watch his tongue. If he wants to make games again and Nintendo's not as profitable as the shareholders like, I'm sure they'd be happy to vote him out so he can make games again.
If he ever gets the time, I'd love to see a new game made by him.

Also, I had no idea Iwata made Balloon Fight... I learn something new every day!
