Does Club Nintendo automatically register your Wii U games?

Are we seeing the next evolution of Club Nintendo on Wii U? Reader Joey hopped on his PC to check out the upcoming Gold Nunchuk restock on Club Nintendo, only to find that his Wii U and games had already been registered. Mind you, he never went to Club Nintendo to enter in his codes. Does the Wii U auto-register your content once you're online with your Wii U and have your Club Nintendo account linked? Anyone else out there able to back up these claims?
