boktai: The Sun is in Your Hand for GBA uses a solar sensor to charge your in game weapon. It is a cool feature but makes the game near impossible to play at night or on a cloudy day.

Well, I don't any GBA games that use real life elements for backgrounds, but I know both Mushroom Kingdom Fusion and Super Mario Fusion do for certain levels (like the Las Vegas and National Park levels in Alternate Earth). And some bits of Wario Land 4 and WarioWare Inc (the entire latter series) use real world photos and pictures in certain mini games or the former's music room (mostly as gags).
And Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver do for the Arceus event:
