Retro is certainly working on one large-scale project. We've reported on new hires in the past, but now we have information that points to new employees from Vigil, Junction Point and Bioware Austin joining the team. Will we finally get to see what Retro is working on come E3?

This is certainly and interesting development...here's to hoping that with all of this recruiting they will be able to release more than 1 game every 3 years...
Not really surprised since both Vigil and Retro are located in Austin Texas
I was waiting for you to post about this. XD
So far I found 5 folks, three of which from Vigil, and that's not including another Vigil person we knew about from before.
Hopefully if JP closes, Retro will grab some of them.
I wanted to be careful and not mention names, I didn't want anyone to harass the poor folks.
I hope whatever Retro is working on is going to blow minds.
i think their next game aint donkey kong country returns 2, as more we hear about people getting hired the more i think it is bigger project. either metroid game or star fox in bigger scale
Yikes... so people who worked on Epic Mickey... are working at Retro. Here's hoping it's not any of the programmers, writers or gameplay designers.
I heard Junction Point closed?
The one I found was Associate Environment Artist, not Environment Artist at Retro. There's another JP person at Retro, I have to go back and see what that person did then and now.
Epic Mario confirmed?
In all seriousness, I hope Retro's game is ready to be shown at E3, that's the only thing Nintendo needs to pack with what we already know thanks to the Pokémona and Wii U Directs and they'll E3 victory secured.
I look forward to playing Epic Marksideroids
now all Nintendo needs to do is purchase the Darksiders IP
Awesomeness... I am deadly curious to what they (retro) are up to. Hoping for something new, but I know that isn't happening. No way it's DKCR 2... Metroid perhaps yes. Now that would be amazing in HD, specially with Retro doing the job. If star Fox then a 4 plauyer co-op would be so freaking awesome (online also, of course). Would be cool to see them to Raven Blade...Oh where are you E3 2013????
the Retro studios anticipation is damn near at a boiling point. it simply must be shown in some form at E3. MUST. It's going to melt brains
@melbye JP too
@Link613
I can only imagine what a Retro Studios Darksiders would look like.
The eyegasms, and the perfectly designed gameplay.
There was some very talent folks at Junction Point, I don't know if you are much of a Disney fanic but they had the little details nailed down. The problems with the games might of stemmed from that...to much focus on little details and not enough on the gameplay. :/
Now will people finally stop talking about, how Retro isn't the same, since those three guys left the company years ago. Those three guys were replaced years ago now, and countless more have been added to the studio since then. But everyone in the gaming media, just loves to harp on about how those three lead guys left the studio.
Retro put out DKCR, and worked on half of MK8 since then, both huge games that sold over 5 million units. They are great developers, who just keep added more great people from other good, and great studio's. What have those three guys gone on to do? Nothing! So who cares why they left Retro?
I'm glad to see this news. There were really talented artists on those companies and retro has a really good direction.
I hope to see more news about retro soon
I swear I'm gunna blow up something if this E3 Mario Kart U -WAS- Retro's game they're working on.
Though great new in general, heard many rumors what they may be working on since the last release. From the god-awful idea of Retro Zelda, to Prime 4-6. Even heard Nintendo bought out a few "loose ends" from the sale of Rare not long ago (within a year), so that gives us a few ideas like a fresher Diddy Kong Racing, perhaps? Even heard Retro at one point showed Nintendo Battletoads ideas and in return Nintendo made them work on DKCR. Who knows at this point.
Depends, do I have faith in their talent? Yes, DKCR showed me this.
If you're referencing the Prime series; Burn... Just... Burn.
it seems to me that highly qualified and talented people from western studios do move around a lot more than elsewhere , i'm glad they did to avoid a tough situation , but i still don't think all of those would not have a real impact on retro game . I would so love to see them double their output and make four games in four year (3 wii u 1 3ds) but all those star studios (nintendo tokyo, monolith soft, sakurai) don't seem willing to take on that challenge . Either way metroid prime 4 or dkcr2 i'm all for it .
After X by monolisoft , i don't think they can surprise me that much , since i never intended to buy a game from a jrpg automated combat developer . 4players local and online campaign and horde game is my secret hope for their game . Metroid blast was just such a ... blast .
This should be interesting, indeed. ^_^
This makes me very happy. It also lets us know that Retro is up to something REALLY big.
