Walt Disney Co.'s video game division laid off about 50 staffers Tuesday from several locations on the same day that it closed the Austin, Texas, studio that produced its "Epic Mickey" titles.
The layoffs were separate from the people who lost their jobs at Austin-based Junction Point, according to a knowledgeable person not authorized to discuss the matter publicly.

This is a hard lesson for Disney to learn. You can't churn out crap and expect results. You might be able to release a turd (Epic Mickey) and reach success based on a brand or name, but a burned audience might not come back for round 2.
It's time to take your medicine, Disney.

I didn't think Epic Mickey was too bad of a game, it wasn't great but decent. The second one just wasn't very good.
Tough times for the industry all around....this could get even more ugly with the releases of the 720 and PS4...if Sony/Microsoft go the full power route again they might as well have single handily killed this industry...unless 3rd parties invest their time, money, and efforts on Wii U and current consoles as well..but we all know that ain't gonna happen.
