He's probably just guessing and doesn't know shovel! I'll wait for Nintendo to officially announce one and when they do I hope it's better than the 1st party ND (not that that one was bad, I'm just more excited for 3rd party games than Nintendo's at the moment...)

I love how someone tried to give him the whole "you only talk good about Nintendo cause they gave you free stuff and you don't actually like them, right?" shovel and he told em off.

*Third party Nintendo Direct is wrapping up*
Iwata: Before we go, we would like to take a look at one more game, coming exclusively to 3DS eShop, courtesy of our friends at XSeed Games...
*Senran Kagura Burst trailer*
*Iwata staring at a pair of melons*
*Iwata puts down melons*
Iwata: ... I will wait for you all to pick your jaws up off the floors. Senran Kagura Burst, was a huge hit in Japan, and we are happy to announce it is available now, for $29.99.

I would very happily slap down $30 on the 3DS eshop for it. :)

Why? The PS Vita annuonce did not make me go and put my 3DS in the trash, I´m a gamer, I own all the consoles and a gaming PC, can´t wait for Feb. 20th, but even if they tell us that the PS4 is very powerful and is gonna be free for all, I´m gonna still play my Wii U....

Nintendo needs to do that, even if it's just a guess from that guy, we need to know what 3rd parties are throwing at us, except EA, they can slack off...

Iwata heavily implied the next ND would be Third Party-focused in the one we just had.

So nothing new here.

He says this not because he knows something, he's just guessing. This really isn't newsworthy.

@melbye
That wouldn't be smart, that would be pretty dumb actually. ALL eyes will be on that Sony event. Nobody will care about some third party Wii U games on that day aside from us.

Sure, so everybody will ignore it

I'm sure Iwata said there would be a 3rd party direct coming up, but I think this guy is hoping Nintendo will do the smart thing and try and put up a fight. As far as everyone ignoring it....really? how can you say that I for one know I couldn't care LESS about sony or their new system!

Not to mention the fact every gamer would check out both eventually.

I like Marcus, he's very unbiased. He'll talk down on every company regardless and call things the way he see's them. In the case of Nintendo, he's not a Nintendo hater, he never has been and when Nintendo does something he likes, just like any company, he'll say good things about them.

We all know that between a reveal of a bunch of third party games for WiiU and 3DS (that we probably already know), and the discussion and posible reveal of a next generation console, most of the attention will be on the later. There is no point to put both streams at the same time.

Again, it wouldn't really matter because both will get checked out eventually.

It does matter if you are trying to steal someone else's thunder with your own event, which is what the user is suggesting. Nintendo has all the days and hours in the world to choose from. Doing it at the same day and at the same time of your rival's event is no longer making an announcement, its a popularity contest.

Well, if they did it at the same time, that wouldn't necessarily be why they did it then, but I see what you mean that is what the other person is suggesting. It could be easy to steal the thunder, though, if they were to come out with some major third-party/exclusive announcements. Getting GTA5 exclusive would be a lone announcement that could steal attention.

I doubt they will have any earth-shattering third-party announcements and I doubt they would do it at the same time even if they wanted to steal their thunder, cause they would probably do it the day before, or right before, not at the exact same time, but, if they did, everyone would see them both anyways. I think the whole thing that started this was mainly a joke anyways.

"Everybody" will see them both as long as they know a wiiu direct happened (speaking more about the masses than us)
The gaming media will be all over Sony that day. Its best to stay as far away as possible from their event to maximize the media attention, specially considering Nintendo announces their NDs the day before they air, giving little time to generate hype beyond internet forums.
