- compatible with the Wii U Pro Controller
- GamePad screen allows for quick switching of weapons and inventory
- also use the screen for navigation of 3D maps
- allows for off-TV play
"I wouldn’t want to be so presumptuous as to say that everyone will enjoy one version more than another, but there are definitely features in the Nintendo Wii U version that are not found on other consoles.” - producer Tsukasa Takenaka
So the game gets off-TV play...which makes it much like playing on a 3DS, but without the second screen. Odd choice, but I wouldn't knock people for using it! Thanks to Erimgard for the heads up.

Giving it pointer controls like RE 4 wii edition would have been appreciated, not necessary, but appreciated. It sounds good, i'll probably pick it up unless some other more interesting game shows up
Will it have StreetPass?
using the gamepad to manage the inventory in ZombiU was one of the best new things about that game - hopefully it'll work well in this too.
Great job Konamy! Ubi should learn from you... I never thought i would say something like that someday! But still, correct all the boring aspect from the 3ds version and i'll buy this one at full price on day one.
Touchscreen features FTW!
They're probably still looking into it.
Sounds awesome.
My hope: Gamepad used as Genesis Scanner!
no wii remote and nunchuck controls -50...but i'll still buy it.
If they don't use the Gamepad as Genesis scanner ........... no, that's not even possible.
no wiimote pointer ? what about gyro aiming that was decent enough on the 3ds game .
Resident Evil Revelations belongs to Capcom, not Konami.
Anyways, I'm looking forward to trying out off-tv play.
So let me get this straight. RE:R for the Wii U, using the MT Framework engine is able to use off-TV play but MH3U from the same company, using the same tech, granted diffrent team, can't pull it off? I can't imagine the RE team had as much time as the MH team. So why can the RE team use the same tech, port the game in a similar fashion (from 3DS to Wii U) and have that ability? See, these are the things that make Japanese devs feel like they are technically backwards.
@joshb1983
@LegendofSantiago
Both of these! These would definitely sweeten the deal for me (although are by no means deal breakers in the slightest)
Definitely a good choice to include Off TV Play. I might get it if it includes support for the Wii remote and nunchuck.
I assume the GamePad inventory system would work just like it did on the 3DS touch screen.
Wait, what in the hell? How long have I been gone? When did Revelations get announced for consoles?
@Ragnarokstorymaker It got leaked a while back (january) then officially announced awhile back. ONM has info on the game and that came out today
Lets see a price please...
Hmmm. If they make the Wii U version good enough, I might double dip.
off tv play, its like playing on the 3ds minus 3d effect and second screen, hmm, no thanks
It'll be $50, however, Amazon currently has the price at $45ish.
No pointer controls is a huge let down, but unlike an FPS, I can deal with it.
I will be purchasing this for the first time
I used gyro aiming... please let this still be the case
Gyro or GTFO!!!
